We are excited to announce that Shuchimita V2, an initiative by STEM Community, IUB, has been awarded First Runner-Up in the Innovative Idea Pitching and Project Showcasing Segment at the IUB EEE INNOVATION FEST 2024! 🏆🎉
Our project associates, Tanifa and Rahat Ahsan Shihab, represented the team with great pride. We also want to acknowledge the hard work of all our team members—Fatin Ishraq and Raafiu Mahmood—who contributed to developing this project for the welfare of the community.
Shuchimita V2 is a low-cost, RFID-based sanitary napkin dispenser designed to make menstrual hygiene products easily accessible to female students on campus. The machine allows students to access sanitary pads hassle-free by simply scanning their student ID cards, eliminating the need for cash or complex instructions. This ensures that female students can manage unexpected period situations with dignity and ease, especially during emergencies.
We are looking forward to deploying the updated iteration of Shuchimita V2 soon in the medical center at IUB, fostering a more supportive and inclusive environment for all female students. We look forward to making menstrual hygiene products accessible and stigma-free in educational institutions! đź’ź
