Special Learning Session on Urban Transport Planning

The students of the Department of Civil Engineering, Stamford University Bangladesh, attended a full-day special learning session on transportation and traffic management organized by the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) for engineering university students. The program focused on urban transport planning, policy frameworks, and future infrastructure development in Greater Dhaka.
The session began with registration and an inaugural program, followed by technical discussions on integrated and sustainable transport planning, the role of TCEC, and major transport laws, including the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority Act 2012, Dhaka Metro Rail Act 2015, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Act 2016, Rapid Pass Rules, and the Road Transport Act 2018.
Later sessions highlighted the One Card for All Transport initiative and ongoing and future transport projects led by Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority.
Around 60 students from reputed institutions, including BRAC University, North South University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka, East West University, and Jahangirnagar University, participated in the program.
The session was highly informative, well organized, and professionally managed. The organizers warmly welcomed participants, provided an honorarium, collected feedback and practical suggestions, and expressed interest in future collaboration, creating valuable opportunities for academic and professional growth.
