拜年 (bài nián) means wishing someone on the new year.
Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) greetings are distinct because they focus on auspicious blessings for prosperity, health, and family unity rather than just celebrating the date.
Rooted in over 3,000 years of tradition, these phrases act as rituals to attract good fortune, ward off the evil, express respect for elders, and strengthen social bonds!
Here are some common Chinese New Year wishes other than 新年快乐 (Xīn nián kuàilè).
Do you know how to say 'Ramadan' in Chinese?
新年快乐! 马到成功!
Xīnnián kuàilè! Mǎdào chénggōng!
Happy Chinese New Year of the Horse! Wishing you all instant success!
