Today, PISER’s Cultural Club and Film Theatre Club presented a beautiful cultural programme, mainly organized and performed by the BSc students of PISER, based on the theme “নকশী কাঁথার মাঠ” 🍂🌾

The students put in tremendous effort, time, and dedication to bring this theme to life.
From planning and rehearsals to the final performances, their creativity, teamwork, and passion were truly reflected throughout the programme.

It was wonderful to see the students beautifully portray our culture, traditions, and storytelling through their performances. The energy and enthusiasm they brought to the stage made the entire programme truly memorable.. ✨

Transforming Rehabilitation through Innovation and Evidence-Based Practice..✨

A special knowledge-sharing and interaction session was held at Prayas Institute of Special Education & Research (PISER), focusing on innovation, modern rehabilitation practices, and evidence-based rehabilitation.

The session was led by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sohrab Hossain, Executive Director, CRP, a distinguished Physiotherapist and rehabilitation professional, who completed his PhD from University of Sidney on Rehabilitation Sector.
His extensive experience and valuable insights provided our students with meaningful perspectives on the evolving field of rehabilitation.

The event was attended by Colonel Md. Altaf Ali, psc, Executive Director & Principal, PISER, Lt Col Farhana Afrin, psc, ASC, Director, PISER, faculty members, officials, and students.

Students had the opportunity to engage directly with an experienced leader, share their questions, and gain valuable insights for their future professional careers.

We look forward to having Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sohrab Hossain Sir’s valuable contribution to our Master of Science in Physiotherapy Program, further strengthening academic learning, professional development, and evidence-based rehabilitation practice..📚✍🏻

Advanced Pharmacology for Physiotherapists 💊📚

An insightful and engaging session on Advanced Pharmacology for Physiotherapists conducted by Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Masud, Principal, DCPT and Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Kumudini Women’s Medical College & Hospital, Mirzapur, Tangail.
The session provided us with valuable insights into pharmacology, commonly used medications, and their clinical relevance to physiotherapy practice, helping us better understand the role of pharmacological knowledge in comprehensive patient care.
An informative and clinically relevant learning experience.. ✨

Research Methodology: Learning by Doing!

Today’s Research Methodology session conducted by Habibur Rahman Sir focused on developing a standard research protocol and proposal for experimental studies, particularly Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs).
Instead of discussing the steps only in theory, students were divided into groups and given an instant group work task. Within just 45 minutes, they discussed, developed, and presented their research proposals.
What made the session even more interesting was that the entire process from group discussion and proposal development to presentation and feedback was completed within the same three hour class.

A great example of how research methodology can be taught through active participation and learning by doing. 📚🔬

Today, PROYASH Institute of Special Education had the privilege of welcoming Valerie Ann Taylor, Founder of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), on a courtesy visit.

During an inspiring interactive session with everyone, Valerie Ann Taylor shared her invaluable insights on rehabilitation, inclusive education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the importance of compassionate, evidence-based healthcare. Her remarkable journey and lifelong dedication to serving persons with disabilities inspired everyone present.

The programme was attended by Colonel Md. Altaf Ali, psc, Executive Director & Principal, PISER; Lt Col Farhana Afrin, psc, ASC, Director, PISER; Lt Col Md. Rakibul Amin, Inf, Director, Special Education, Inclusive Education & Administration, PROYASH; along with the esteemed faculty members and students of Proyash.

We are pleased to welcome Md. Delowar Hossain Chowdhury as an Adjunct Faculty in our Department of Physiotherapy, PISER.

Yesterday, he conducted his first Rehabilitation Science session for our MSc Physiotherapy students. His expertise and experience will undoubtedly enrich our students' academic journey and strengthen their understanding of rehabilitation science.

We warmly welcome him to PISER and look forward to his valuable contributions in our Department of Physiotherapy.

Our practical sessions continue to strengthen the clinical skills of our MSc Physiotherapy fellows and Faculties of Dept of PT, PISER through evidence-based, hands-on learning.

Last week's practical session focused on the McKenzie Method (Module A: Lumbar Spine) and was conducted by Farzana Sharmin, Lecturer, Department of Physiotherapy. The session emphasized assessment and management strategies for lumbar spine disorders using the McKenzie approach.

Today's practical session was conducted by our MSc Physiotherapy Fellow, Moniruzzaman Olive, Secretary General of the Alliance of Private Physiotherapy Center Owners (APPCO), Founder and Head of Olive's Physiotherapy centre, and Certified Mulligan Practitioner. The session introduced the Mulligan Concept, with particular emphasis on Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency (VBI) screening and the application of Mulligan techniques in the assessment and management of Cervicogenic Headache.

These sessions reflect our commitment to excellence in evidence-based physiotherapy education.

Today's Research Methodology session was conducted by our Guest Faculty, Md. Habibur Rahman Sir.
