Congratulations on Securing a Prestigious BMRC Research Grant
The Department of Community Nutrition proudly extends its warmest congratulations to Ms. Taslima Khatun, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Community Nutrition, on her outstanding achievement in securing a prestigious Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) Research Grant as the Principal Investigator.
Her research project, entitled “Body Shape Perceptions and Eating Disorder Determinants in School Girls (12–16 Years) Living in Dhaka City: A Cross-Sectional Study,” addresses a critical and emerging public health concern affecting adolescent girls in Bangladesh. By exploring body image perceptions and the underlying determinants of eating disorders among school-going girls, this study aims to generate valuable scientific evidence that will support the development of effective nutrition, mental health, and adolescent health promotion strategies.
This notable accomplishment reflects Ms. Khatun’s unwavering commitment to research excellence, academic leadership, and the advancement of evidence-based public health practice. World Food Safety Day 2026:
Quiz Session
On the occasion of 'World Food Safety Day', a special Quiz Session was organized during the seminar conducted by the Department of Community Nutrition Bangladesh University of Health Sciences.
The session was successfully facilitated by Manika Rani Sarker, Associate Professor Department of Community Nutrition, BUHS.
The primary objective of this competition was to encourage and evaluate the students' knowledge of food safety and public health nutrition. The active and enthusiastic participation of the students added great value to the event.

"From burden to solutions - safe food everywhere" প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে আজ বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব হেলথ সায়েন্সেস ক্যাম্পাসে 'ডিপার্টমেন্ট অব কমিউনিটি নিউট্রিশন' এবং 'নিউট্রিশন ক্লাব'-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে বিশ্ব খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা দিবস ২০২৬ উদযাপিত হয়েছে।
দিবসটি উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত র্যালি ও বিশেষ সেমিনারে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সম্মানিত ট্রেজারার স্যার, ফ্যাকাল্টি অব পাবলিক হেলথ-এর ডিন, বিভিন্ন বিভাগের প্রধানগণ, প্রক্টর, সহকারী শিক্ষকবৃন্দ এবং শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ। সেমিনারে মূল বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কমিউনিটি নিউট্রিশন বিভাগের প্রধান তাসলিমা খাতুন। সকলের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণে আয়োজনটি সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
