Our Annual Staff Party was an afternoon to remember—filled with laughter, lively performances, and genuine appreciation. We proudly celebrated long-standing service, including a 30-year milestone for our Principal, and presented special awards to our teachers and administrative staff for their dedication throughout the past academic year.
With an exciting 42-prize raffle and thoughtful gifts for everyone, we extend our sincere gratitude to our generous parents and sponsors for their support! 💙

At the Sir John Wilson School (SJWS) Early Years Campus, we are thrilled to see our students thriving in our newly designed pretend play area. While it looks like pure fun, this dedicated space is actually a bustling hub of early childhood development, carefully tailored to help our Playgroup, Nursery, and KG I learners grow.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬:

𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲: In our English-medium environment, pretend play acts as a natural language laboratory. Whether they are taking an order at a pretend cafe or diagnosing a toy patient, children practice new words, ask questions, and build the confidence to express themselves.

𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬: Sharing, taking turns, and collaborating do not always come naturally to young learners. This space gives them a safe, joyful environment to practice empathy, negotiate roles with friends, and learn the value of teamwork.

𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 & 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠: When children invent scenarios, sort play items, or figure out how to share a limited number of props, they are using advanced cognitive skills. They are learning to think critically, plan ahead, and solve problems independently.

𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: From buttoning a doctor's coat to arranging small grocery items on a shelf, children are constantly refining their fine and gross motor skills, which directly supports their readiness for writing and other classroom activities.

𝐃𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐡’𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝: 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬

Our Class 8 girls embraced every challenge on their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award journey to Basecamp, Gazipur. From obstacle courses and mud trails to zip lines and team-building activities, the adventure strengthened their resilience, confidence, leadership and teamwork while encouraging them to step beyond their comfort zones and create lasting memories.

On 18 August, an interactive Study Abroad Session was held by PFEC Global at the school’s main campus for Classes 11 and 12 students offering valuable insights into universities, scholarships, admissions and study opportunities in Australia and the UK. The session reflects SJWS’s commitment to helping students make confident, well-informed decisions and explore opportunities for their academic futures.

𝐎𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 : 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐉𝐖𝐒 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

The SJWS Alumni Football Tournament brought together former students from different graduating batches for a day-long friendly game, and created memories. Congratulations to Team OG, the Champions, and Team Legend, the Runner-up, along with individual award winners for their outstanding performances. The gathering also honoured the memory of Ms Sarah Streeton, Founding Principal of Sir John Wilson School, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire the SJWS community. More than a tournament, the event celebrated the enduring bonds and sense of belonging that connect our alumni to their school.

~Empowering our teachers to inspire our youngest learners! 📚✨

Our Early Years team (Playgroup to KG I) recently participated in an internal, teacher-led Jolly Phonics Workshop. The session explored multi-sensory teaching strategies, using movement, gestures, facial expressions, and interactive activities to make sound recognition more engaging and memorable.

By strengthening our teachers’ phonics practices, we continue to build strong foundations for early literacy and confident learning.
