Our little eco-warriors of the Early Section also joined the Mother Earth Day celebration with thoughtful reminders on how we can protect and care for our planet. From saving electricity to reducing plastic waste, our young learners shared simple yet meaningful ways to help create a happier and safer Earth for everyone.

Colours of Creativity
Creativity and talent took centre stage at the Annual Art Award Ceremony and Art Exhibition 2025β26 at Sir John Wilson School. The event beautifully celebrated imagination, creativity, confidence, and artistic expression of our young learners. It was a great honour that renowned artist Hashem Khan was our chief guest for the Art Award ceremony. He inaugurated the week long art exhibition as well.
The cultural performances put up by our talented students added value to the event.
Waste Relay Race: Learning Through Action and Teamwork β»οΈ
The school field came alive with excitement as students at SJWS took part in the energetic Waste Relay Race during our Mother Earth Day celebration on 10 May. With laughter, teamwork, and quick thinking, students raced to place the correct flashcards into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste boxes, helping them understand the importance of proper waste segregation and sustainable living. Every successful sorting moment was a small victory for both teamwork and the planet, and the enthusiasm continued throughout the activity.

The Mother Earth Day celebrations continued at SJWS with creativity and collaboration! πβ¨
As part of our Waste to Wonder initiative, students of Class 3 and 4 teamed up with friends from the Abinta Kabir Foundation School for an inspiring DIY Craft Challenge. Simple discarded everyday materials soon transformed into stunning creations, as students shared ideas, experimented freely, and discovered the true potential of upcycling.
This activity beautifully reflected the essence of Waste to Wonderβturning the ordinary into something extraordinary while nurturing environmental responsibility.

SJWS celebrated Mother Earth Day on 10 May with a variety of exciting activities. As part of the celebration, Classes 1 and 2 took part in an exciting Eco Quiz that brought a lively buzz to the day. From quick answers to thoughtful responses, students showcased their environmental awareness and love for nature while enjoying every bit of the challenge.
After a close competition, the winners were Class 1 Sea Lion and Class 2 Venus. Congratulations to all the participants for their effort! π

Ongoing Professional Development to adapt to evolving educational technologies and high standards
SJWS proudly represented its commitment to progressive education at the DISA Professional Development Conference 2026. Our Teachers participated in diverse workshops focused on effective teaching practices, empathy-based learning strategies and modern classroom practices, while our school leaders facilitated impactful sessions on protecting wellbeing and bullying prevention, support and intervention that contributed to professional growth amongst Teachers of other DISA schools. These sessions reflected our schoolβs dedication to continuous holistic learning amongst our Teachers.

Celebrating Sportsmanship and School Spirit
On Friday, 24 April 2026, Sir John Wilson School hosted the SJWS Junior Inter-School Football Tournament at its Main Campus, bringing together 14 schools for a dynamic celebration of youth football, teamwork and fair play.
The tournament witnessed exciting matches across the Boys and Boys and Girls Combined U-12 categories, with impressive performances from all participating teams. In the Boys category, Glenrich International School emerged as Champion, followed by International School Dhaka (ISD) as Runner-up, Scholastica as 2nd Runner-up, and Sir John Wilson School (White) as 3rd Runner-up. In the Boys and Girls Combined category, Glenrich secured the Champion title, Sir John Wilson School (Blue) finished Runner-up, SFX Greenherald International School claimed 2nd Runner-up, and Sir John Wilson School (White) placed 3rd Runner-up.
We would also like to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the Senior Section students, who, together with the coaches, worked collaboratively to organise this tournament.
