If you are a young Bangladeshi woman in your 20s in 2026, you need to have a Selfcare Package that includes Gender Politics Literacy, R**e Culture Literacy, Technology-Facilitated Men Violence Against Women Literacy, Legal Literacy, Identity Politics Literacy, Intimate Partner Violence Literacy, Manosphere/Bro Culture Literacy, Internalized Misogyny & Patriarchal Collaboration Literacy, Financial Literacy, Social Psychology Literacy.
You need to know why some women will serve patriarchy more than men. Handmaidens. Pick-mes. Women who protect ra**sts, shame victims, tell you to adjust. You need to see them, name them, stop seeking their approval. You also can't afford to trust every woman just because she is a woman. Some of them will drag you back to the cage and call it love. I hope you know it by now.
Apart from this, you need to know the biological functions, nutrition needs, period cycles, food intakes in terms of period cycle, etc. to keep your living vessel healthy. Before you think of decorating your room as part of your selfcare, think about your self-expression. Your wardrobe collections, fashion sense, presence, etc.
When you think of self-care, think of it not as something to polish the outlook aesthetics, but as an inside-out package of care for YOURSELF. Your cognitive freedom is the substantial driver for the freedom you look for outside. You can't be financially autonomous unless you are cognitively free from patriarchy and patriarchal extremism. You can't have an autonomous body and self unless you understand the centuries-old practices around your body that you've been taught to think are so normal. You can't seek legal justice unless you know the law and know the nuances around it. Know the loopholes, know the realities. You can't know how men around you think of you as just a sexual and domestic slave unless you go inside the manosphere and dig deep into r**e culture. You can't understand any of it if you DON'T understand gender politics.
So the biggest selfcare that you can't afford to ignore is having the knowledge and practice to be an autonomous being. And YOU can't be that being without knowing all of these.
