📢 Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition 2026: Try-Out Registration Now Open
The try-out registration for the Asia Cup Moot Court Competition is now open. Interested students are required to complete the Google Form by 7th May.

1. The written submission deadline must be strictly observed
2. Registration is highly encouraged for students from 2nd year onwards
3. Initial selection will be based on written submissions

On this May Day, Comilla University Moot Court Society pays tribute to the workers whose dedication, resilience, and sacrifices continue to shape societies and strengthen economies around the world.

International Workers’ Day is not only a celebration of labour but also a reminder of the long struggle for fair wages, safe working conditions, dignity, and equal rights in the workplace. The progress we witness today stands upon the sacrifices of countless workers who raised their voices for justice and human rights.

As future legal professionals, we recognize the importance of protecting labour rights and upholding the principles of fairness, equality, and social justice. May this day inspire greater respect for every worker whose effort contributes to building a better society.

"The Art of Mooting: From Research to Rhetoric" workshop was successfully held on 27 April 2026, organized by the Department of Law, Comilla University, in collaboration with the Comilla University Moot Court Society, CoUMCS.

We express our sincere gratitude to Sadia Tabassum, Head of the Department (Acting), Department of Law, Comilla University, for her valuable guidance and for chairing the session.

Heartfelt appreciation to Md. Abu Bakar Siddik, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Comilla University, Cumilla as a special guest, and Md. Abu Bakar Siddiq, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Comilla University, for his significant contribution to making the event successful. A special note of thanks to him for his insightful discussion on legal research and mooting during the workshop, which added immense practical value for the participants.

We are also grateful to Sohrab Hossain, Student Advisor and Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Comilla University, for his continuous support and presence.

A very special thanks to our Keynote Speaker, Fahim Abrar Abid, Erasmus Mundus Scholar, for conducting an insightful and engaging session on “How to Start Legal Research as a Law Student.” His session provided practical guidance and inspiration for aspiring law students to develop strong research and mooting skills.

The workshop offered participants a comprehensive understanding of mooting from legal research to effective courtroom rhetoric, making it an enriching experience for all attendees.

Resource Person: Fahim Abrar Abid

An Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholar, currently pursuing a fully funded triple Master’s programme in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development across leading European institutions:
1. University of Glasgow (UK)-LL.M. in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development
2. Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (Spain)-master's in international relations & international security
3. University of Tartu (Estonia)-M.A. in International Law & Human Rights.

His academic journey spans multiple countries including the UK, Spain, Germany, and Estonia, reflecting a truly global legal education.

Beyond academics, he is a distinguished legal researcher with publications in internationally reputed journals, a contributor to Oxford University Press, and actively engaged in global human rights advocacy and research.

The students of the Department of Law, Comilla University participated in the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition 2026, representing Comilla University at the national qualifying round.
The participating team members were Shakil Hossain, Md. Rafid Mahmud, and Ratul Biswas Turzo, who represented the Department of Law, Comilla University, in this prestigious international mooting platform focused on Environmental Law.

We acknowledge their dedication and efforts and wish them success in their future academic and professional endeavors.
