The Department of English of Britannia University successfully organized a webinar titled “Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Fear & Weakness in Spoken English” on Friday, 8th May, 2026 through the Zoom platform under the initiative of the English Language Club, in collaboration with English Carnival.
The webinar was arranged with the objective of encouraging students and language learners to overcome fear, hesitation, and weaknesses in spoken English and to develop confidence in communication skills essential for academic and professional success.
The program was graced by the honorable Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, whose inspiring remarks highly motivated the participants and appreciated the Department’s continuous efforts in organizing meaningful academic and skill-development activities.
The session featured Priyanka Prava Dey as the Guest Speaker. Through her insightful discussion and practical guidance on spoken English and IELTS preparation, she inspired the participants to communicate more confidently and effectively.
In the welcome speech, the Chairman of the Department of English highlighted that the Department of English of Britannia University remains committed to promoting academic excellence, communication skills, creativity, and global perspectives among students. Alongside regular academic activities, the department regularly arranges seminars, workshops, cultural programs, and interactive learning sessions to prepare students for the challenges of the modern world.
Teachers, students, and participants from different departments attended the webinar enthusiastically. The interactive session provided valuable learning experiences and encouraged learners to become more fluent, confident, and fearless in using English in both academic and professional fields.
The webinar concluded successfully with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Umme Rabeya Mili, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, organizers, and participants for making the program meaningful and impactful.
