Faculty of Social Science, IIUC

An academic seminar titled 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 was organized by the Department of Economics and Banking under the Faculty of Social Sciences at International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). The seminar was held last Saturday in the conference room of the university’s central library.

​এই MoU-র মাধ্যমে উভয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষক বিনিময়, যৌথ গবেষণা, সেমিনার ও কর্মশালা আয়োজন সহ বিভিন্ন ধরণের শিক্ষাবিষয়ক সহযোগিতার দ্বার উন্মোচিত হবে।

​সমাজবিজ্ঞান অনুষদের ডিন, অধ্যাপক ড. সিরাজুল ইসলাম, এবং উসুক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক বিভাগের ডিন, অধ্যাপক ড. লি সি-হিউন, সমঝোতা স্মারকে স্বাক্ষর করেন।

​এই সমঝোতা স্মারক দুই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজবিজ্ঞান অনুষদ এবং আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক বিভাগের মধ্যে শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার ক্ষেত্রে নতুন সম্ভাবনার সৃষ্টি করবে বলে আমরা আশা করি।

Good News for FSS,IIUC Students 🇧🇩🤝🇰🇷
An MoU was signed between International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) and Woosuk University, South Korea on 15 April 2026 in Dhaka.

On behalf of IIUC, Prof. Dr. Serajul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Mr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Director (In-charge), International Affairs and Student Welfare Division, represented the university. The MoU was formally signed by both Deans of the respective universities.
This collaboration will create opportunities for: • Student Exchange
• Credit Transfer
Woosuk University will also offer scholarships for IIUC students and establish a Korean Language Centre at IIUC with Korean instructors.
This partnership opens new global opportunities for students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, IIUC.

The Faculty of Social Science (FSS), IIUC, successfully organized an OBE-based IQAC Workshop through the Department of Economics & Banking to strengthen outcome-based teaching and academic quality.

The session was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hasmat Ali (Pro Vice Chancellor, IIUC), with Special Guest Prof. Dr. Serajul Islam (Dean, FSS, IIUC), and chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Shariful Haque (Chairman, DEB, IIUC). Keynote speakers included Mr. Rafiqul Islam (Assistant Professor, DEB, IIUC) and Sharmina Khanom (Assistant Professor, DEB, IIUC). The program was anchored by Prof. Monir Ahmmed (DEB, IIUC).

The workshop emphasized curriculum alignment, learning outcomes, assessment strategies, and continuous quality improvement. Faculty members actively participated, making the event engaging and insightful.
