🇧🇩 A new Fortify Rights report documents the mass arbitrary detention and “warehousing” of Rohingya refugees, genocide survivors from Myanmar, on Bhasan Char in Bangladesh.

Based on more than 100 interviews over five years, the report finds that Rohingya refugees are denied freedom of movement and access to livelihoods, amounting to de facto detention in violation of domestic and international law.

The report calls on Bangladesh to close Bhasan Char, end refugee “warehousing,” and protect the rights and dignity of Rohingya refugees.
