Understanding which standards to trust is key. For organic fibres, the most robust certification is the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). It not only ensures organic content but also addresses environmental and social impacts throughout the supply chain. If you're working with OCS (Organic Content Standard), make sure to pair it with OEKO-TEX® 100 to verify that no harmful chemicals are used in the processing.

For recycled materials like cotton, polyester, or nylon, rely on the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) or the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). These certifications track recycled content from source to product and include environmental safeguards. Free learning resources are available at:

🧾 Step 2: Secure the Required Documentation
Before making any sustainability claims, you'll need to verify them with proper certificates:

First, obtain a Scope Certificate (SC) for every certified facility in your supply chain (yarn mill, fabric mill, garment factory).

Before cutting fabric, request a Transaction Certificate (TC) for yarn or fabric to confirm it’s certified.

After shipment, a Final Product TC must be uploaded within 2–4 weeks to validate the claim.
