Education নিয়ে এহেন নোংড়ামো আর ফাজলামোর শেষ কোথায়; এই নষ্টামির শেষ পরিণতিই বা কি; এই জাতিই বা এই বাতুলতার কতটা মুল্য দিবে? আমি কি আমার জিবদ্দশায় এই আতঙ্কিত চিৎকারের উত্তর পাবো? সবচেয়ে বড় কথা হল আমার দুটি ছোট ছোট সন্তানের ভবিষ্যৎ কি হবে? আমি বাধ্য হয়ে ও জেনে শুনে যে তাদেরকে এমন দুষ্টুমিতে ঠেলে দিচ্ছি তার দায়ই বা আমি কিভাবে দিভো? আমি তো এম.পি, মন্ত্রি, আমলা, রাজনীতিবিদ বা বড় ব্যবসাই নই যে তাদেরকে বিদেশ পাঠিয়ে কিছুটা দায় মুক্তির চেষ্টা করবো? অথবা বৃটিশ কারিকুলামে পড়িয়ে তৃপ্তির ঢেকুর তুলে বলবো, “ধেশ নিপাত যাক, আমার সন্তান দুধ ভাত খাক, তোরা সব সাধারণ, তাই তোদের হয়েছে মরণ, তোদের বাপের পকেট ফাঁকা, তাই তোরা সব ধরা। নাই শিক্ষা, তবু🤨ও আমি শিক্ষাবিদ, পেয়েছি তোদেরকে বলদ বানানোর টিকিট, আনন্দে মেতে তোরা হবি দাস, আমার সন্তান হবে তোদের বস; করে বিলাত পাস।

God বা lord কখন capital letter এ লিখতে হবে?
মনে রাখতে হবে যে, god বা Lord দ্বারা যখন সর্বশক্তিমান স্রষ্টাকে বুঝাবে তখন “God বা lord” proper noun হিসেবে capital letter এ লেখতে হবে. যেমন----
• God has created all kinds of species of the universe.
• we are accountable to Lord who is metaphysical and beyond existence.

কিন্তু “god কিংবা lord” শব্দ দ্বারা যদি পৃথিবির কোনো দেব দেবি বা শাসককে বুঝায় তাহলে “god কিংবা lord” small letter এ লেখতে হবে. যথা----
• some husbands consider themselves as the lord of their wives.
• many rulers claimed themselves as the god of the world.

Position of object “object এর ব্যাবহার”
Object মূলত finite verb কিংবা preposition এর পরে ব্যাবহারিত হয়. Such as,
• she is making a scroll on the occasion of the victory day.
“উপরের উদাহারণে (a scroll) এবং ( (the occasion of the victory day” যথাক্রমে verb “making” ও preposition “on” এর object.
আরো উদাহারণ স্বরূপ বলা যায়,
• I am in Kolkata now.
এখানে “Kolkata” nounটি “in” preposition এর object.
• My friend sent me a letter after ten years.
উপরের বাক্যটিতে “me এবং a letter” noun দুটি “sent” finite verb এর object.

Object কাকে বলে?
ইংরেজিতে object হল সেই সকল noun বা pronoun যাদেরকে কেন্দ্র করে subject বা কর্তা তার action বা কাজ সম্পন্ন করে থাকে. অর্থাৎ যে ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু subject এর কাজ “verb” গ্রহণ করে সেটিই হল বাক্য বা sentence এর object. ক্ষেত্রে মনে রাখতে হবে, noun কিংবা pronounই বাক্যের object হিসেবে ব্যাবহারিত হতে পারে. উদাহারণ স্বরূপ বলা যায়ঃঃ
1. I am teaching object in the class.
2. 2. She is learning English now.
3. 3. Yesterday, Paul told me an interesting story that gave me much pleasure.
4. উপরের প্রথম ও দ্বিতিয় উদাহারণে “object এবং English” বস্তুগত noun দুটি যথাক্রমে “teach এবং learn” action বা verb দুটির object বা receiver. আর তৃতিয় উদাহারণটিতে “me, an interesting story, me, much pleasure” ব্যক্তি ও বস্তুবাচক শব্দ গুলো একিভাবে “told এবং gave” verb দুটির object.

Object মূলত দুই প্রকার. যতা---- • direct object “যা কোনো বস্তুকে বুঝায়” • indirect object “যা ব্যক্তি বা প্রাণিকে বুঝায়”. যেমন----

• Raka is catching fish. “indirect object”
• he bought a luxurious dress. “direct object”

verbএর Present form এবং Base form কি একই রকম?

আমরা সকলেই জানি যে, verb এর বিভিন্ন form রয়েছে. কিন্তু কেউ কেউ বলে, তিনটি form আছে. যথা----
• Present form, • Past form এবং • Past Participle form.

আবার কারো কারো মতে, verb এর চারটি form আছে. যেমন---
• Present form, • Past form, • Past Participle form ও • Present participle form.

কিন্তু আমাদের বহুল প্রচলিত বইগুলোতে Base form এর কথা উল্লেখ থাকে না বললেই চলে. অন্যদিকে, কোনো কোনো বইএ verb এর Base form এর ব্যাপারটি থাকলেও তাতে আবার Base form এবং Present formকে একই রকম form বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়. প্রকৃতপক্ষে , আমাদের বইগুলোতে যে formটিকে Present form বলা হয়, সেটি আসলে Base form ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়. উদাহারণ স্বরূপ বলা যায়,
“go, come, run, do, work, walk, sing” ইত্যাদি verb সমুহকে আমরা সাধারণত present form বলি. কিন্তু আসলে উপরে উল্লেখিত verb গুলো Base formএ রয়েছে.

তাহলে প্রশ্ন হল যে, verbএর Present form কোনগুলো? উত্তর হল, “goes, comes, runs, does, works, walks, sings” অর্থাৎ verbএর base formএর সাথে “S/ES” যুক্ত করে আমরা সাধারণত verbএর present form গঠন করি যা আমরা present simple tenseএর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাবহার করি. তবে “to Be” verbএর ক্ষেত্রে এর ব্যাতিক্রম লক্ষ্য করা যায়. যেমন--- “to Be” verbএর base হল, “be” আর present form হচ্ছে “am, is, are”. ঠিক একইভাবে “have = has. Do = does.”

সুতারাং, আমরা বলতে পারি, verbএর পাঁচটি form রয়েছে. যথা---
• Base form, • Present form, • present Participle form, • Past form, • Past Participle form.

পরিশেষে একটি প্রশ্ন করতে চাই. যদি Present form ও Base form একই হয় তাহলে আমরা কেন বলি?

আমরা বেশির ভাগ মানুষ মনে করি যে A.D. দ্বারা "after the death of Jesus" বুঝানো হয়. কিন্তু ব্যাপারটি মোটেও এমন নয়. মূলত A.D. দ্বারা বুঝানো হয় Latin phrase "anno domini" যার অর্থ "in the year when Jesus was born". যাই হোক, কোনো সালের শেষে A.D. উল্লেখ করা উচিৎ নয় কেননা এর ব্যাবহারের জন্য calendar এ এক ধরনের ভুলের সৃষ্টি হয়. অর্থাৎ যদি আমরা "after the death of Jesus" বা "in the year of the birth of the Lord" অর্থে A.D. ব্যাবহার করি তাহলে প্রশ্ন থাকে "Jesus" যত দিন বেঁচে ছিলেন সেই সময় কি আমরা এড়িয়ে যাচ্ছি না? আর এই সমস্যা সমাধানের জন্য অনেক "Biblical scholars, historians, and archaeologists" B.C. "before the birth of Jesus" ও A.D. "after the death of Jesus" এর পরিবর্তে B.C.E. "before common era" এবং C.E. "common era" ব্যাবহার করেন.
