AUW Environmental Sciences Club Student organization to invoke youth participation in climate action for a green future.

The AUW Environmental Sciences Club is a student organization in Asian University for Women, that aims to invoke the youth to partake in environment action programs and prompt ecological restoration for a green future. Through education, awareness and community involvement, the members plan to create a positive and engaging social setting where they will gather hands-on experience in restoration e

cology and management. Solutions from field work and awareness campaigns by the club are applied to improve local level planning under the guidance of the experts in the relevant tract. Starting as a space of common interest for environmentalists, the club is set on a mission to indulge students of all disciplines in environmental rights and promote interdisciplinary research opportunities. The group of nature enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds- banded together to bring about environmental sustainability, encourage each other in academic growth as well. All while providing stimulus and openings to develop skills for research and innovation, the club is open to prospective collaborations. Setting an example through regular club activities and workshops, one of the core strategic objectives is to inspire and retain more women in STEM. As the Japanese say- if the flower is to be beautiful, it must be cultivated. Vision: Invoking the youth to partake in ecological restoration through environment action programs for a green future. Mission: Creating a positive and engaging social setting to gather hands-on experience in restoration ecology and management through education, awareness and community involvement. Plans:

• To improve local level planning applying solutions from field work and awareness campaigns under the guidance of the experts in the relevant tract.

• To indulge students of all disciplines in environmental rights and promote interdisciplinary research opportunities.

• To provide stimulus and openings to develop skills for research and innovation

• To look for relevant and prospective collaborations.

• To inspire and retain more women in STEM.

In these ever-changing times, when days feel like months while months pass in moments, the Executive Board 2025–26 signs out with hearts full of gratitude.

On 27 March 2026, the AUW Environmental Sciences Club & the AUW Sustainable Development Goals Club celebrated the AUW Earth Fest 2026 🌍. The Climate Assembly Roundtable marked the opening and core policy dialogue of the event after a Keynote Speech from Ms Shaika Mohammad Chowdhury, Project Manager of Green Bangle Movement.

Guided by insightful voices from academia and the climate sector, participants engaged deeply with some of today’s most pressing issues. Framed around five key pillars, - Climate Adaptation & Resilience, Climate Finance & Equity, Fossil Fuel Transition, Campus Sustainability, and Women in Climate Justice, participants stepped into the role of policymakers, working collaboratively to identify challenges and propose actionable, campus-level solutions.

These discussions laid the groundwork for the AUW Climate Commitment 2026, a collective vision shaped by dialogue, critical thinking, and shared responsibility.

At the center of this policy-focused exchange was one defining question:
If AUW were a country, what climate responsibility would it take?

A question that set the tone, not just for conversation, but for action. 🌱
