আজকের lesson-এ আমরা শিখব Prefixes and Suffixes সম্পর্কে।

So, what are prefixes and suffixes?

A prefix is a group of letters added to the beginning of a word to change its meaning.

আর suffix হলো এক বা একাধিক letter যা একটি word-এর শেষে যোগ করা হয়, এবং এর meaning বা word-এর form পরিবর্তন করতে পারে।

🔵 What is a Prefix?

Prefix = added at the beginning of a word

বাংলায়: শব্দের শুরুতে যে letters যোগ করা হয়, তাকে Prefix বলে।

Examples:
Prefix Word New Word Meaning
un- happy unhappy not happy
im- possible impossible not possible
dis- honest dishonest not honest
re- write rewrite write again
mis- understand misunderstand understand wrongly
🗣️ Example sentences:

Happy → Unhappy
She is unhappy today.
সে আজ অসুখী।

Write → Rewrite
Please rewrite the sentence.
দয়া করে বাক্যটি আবার লেখো।

Possible → Impossible
It is impossible.
এটি অসম্ভব।

🟢 What is a Suffix?

Suffix = added at the end of a word

বাংলায়: শব্দের শেষে যে letters যোগ করা হয়, তাকে Suffix বলে।

Examples:
Word Suffix New Word Meaning
teach -er teacher যে teaching করে
kind -ness kindness দয়া / সদয়তা
happy -ly happily আনন্দের সাথে
care -ful careful যত্নশীল
hope -less hopeless আশাহীন

Teach → Teacher
My mother is a teacher.
আমার মা একজন শিক্ষক।

Kind → Kindness
Kindness is a great quality.
দয়া একটি মহান গুণ।

Care → Careful

সাবধান হও!

⭐ Easy Trick to Remember

Remember:

PREFIX → FRONT
👉 Prefix comes at the front of a word.

SUFFIX → END
👉 Suffix comes at the end of a word.

So:

PREFIX = আগে
SUFFIX = পরে

🌟 Degrees of Adjectives
বিশেষণের তিনটি রূপ

English:
We use degrees of adjectives to compare people, places, animals, or things.

বাংলা:
মানুষ, স্থান, প্রাণী বা বস্তুর মধ্যে তুলনা করতে adjective-এর degree ব্যবহার করা হয়।

There are three degrees of adjectives:

Positive Degree — সাধারণ রূপ
Comparative Degree — তুলনামূলক রূপ
Superlative Degree — সর্বোচ্চ রূপ
🟢 1. Positive Degree

English:
The Positive Degree describes one person, place, animal, or thing. It does not make a comparison.

বাংলা:
Positive Degree একজন ব্যক্তি, একটি স্থান, প্রাণী বা বস্তুর গুণ বোঝায়। এখানে কোনো তুলনা করা হয় না।

Examples:
The girl is tall.
→ মেয়েটি লম্বা।
The flower is beautiful.
→ ফুলটি সুন্দর।
This bag is heavy.
→ এই ব্যাগটি ভারী।
🔵 2. Comparative Degree

English:
The Comparative Degree compares two people, places, animals, or things.

বাংলা:
Comparative Degree দুইজন ব্যক্তি, স্থান, প্রাণী বা বস্তুর মধ্যে তুলনা করে।

Usually, we use -er or more.

Examples:
Rahim is taller than Karim.
→ রহিম করিমের চেয়ে লম্বা।
This book is more interesting than that book.
→ এই বইটি ওই বইটির চেয়ে বেশি আকর্ষণীয়।
This bag is heavier than that bag.
→ এই ব্যাগটি ওই ব্যাগটির চেয়ে ভারী।

👉 Remember: Comparative Degree-এর সঙ্গে সাধারণত than ব্যবহার করা হয়।

🔴 3. Superlative Degree

English:
The Superlative Degree compares three or more people, places, animals, or things. It shows the highest degree.

বাংলা:
Superlative Degree তিন বা তার বেশি ব্যক্তি, স্থান, প্রাণী বা বস্তুর মধ্যে তুলনা করে এবং সর্বোচ্চ গুণ বোঝায়।

Usually, we use -est or the most.

Examples:
Rina is the tallest girl in the class.
→ রিনা শ্রেণির সবচেয়ে লম্বা মেয়ে।
This is the most interesting book in the library.
→ এটি লাইব্রেরির সবচেয়ে আকর্ষণীয় বই।
This is the heaviest bag of all.
→ এটি সবগুলোর মধ্যে সবচেয়ে ভারী ব্যাগ।

👉 Remember: Superlative Degree-এর আগে সাধারণত the বসে।

Tense - Junior English Grammar ছোটদের ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণ

Have you ever wondered how we know when an action happens?

For example:
👉 I play football.
👉 I played football.
👉 I will play football.

The action is similar, but the time is different.

This is where Tense comes in!

Tense tells us the time of an action.
There are three main types of Tense:

🟢 Present Tense – an action happening now or regularly
🔵 Past Tense – an action that happened before
🟠 Future Tense – an action that will happen later

আমরা কীভাবে বুঝি যে কোনো কাজ কখন ঘটছে?

যেমন:
👉 I play football. — আমি ফুটবল খেলি।
👉 I played football. — আমি ফুটবল খেলেছিলাম।
👉 I will play football. — আমি ফুটবল খেলব।

কাজটি একই, কিন্তু কাজের সময় আলাদা।

এই কাজের সময় বোঝাতেই আমরা Tense বা কাল ব্যবহার করি।

📌 What is an Article?

English:
An Article is a word that comes before a noun.
There are three main articles in English:

👉 An
👉 The

বাংলা:
Article হলো এমন একটি শব্দ, যা সাধারণত Noun-এর আগে বসে।

English-এ প্রধানত তিনটি Article আছে:

👉 The

🔵 Article — A

English:
We use A before a singular countable noun when it begins with a consonant sound.

Examples:
a boy
a book
a cat
a pen
a mango

বাংলা:
কোনো একবচন গণনাযোগ্য noun-এর আগে consonant sound থাকলে আমরা A ব্যবহার করি।

উদাহরণ:

a boy — একটি ছেলে
a book — একটি বই
a cat — একটি বিড়াল
a pen — একটি কলম
🟢 Article — An

English:
We use An before a singular noun that begins with a vowel sound.

Examples:
an apple
an egg
an orange
an umbrella
an elephant

বাংলা:
কোনো একবচন noun-এর শুরুতে vowel sound থাকলে আমরা An ব্যবহার করি।

উদাহরণ:

an apple — একটি আপেল
an egg — একটি ডিম
an orange — একটি কমলা

⭐ Remember: A/An depends on the sound, not just the first letter.
যেমন: a university, কিন্তু an hour।

English:
We use The when we talk about a specific or already-known person or thing.

Examples:
The sun
The moon
The book on the table
The boy I met yesterday

বাংলা:
কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা বিষয় বোঝাতে The ব্যবহার করি।

উদাহরণ:

The sun — সূর্য
The moon — চাঁদ
The book on the table — টেবিলের বইটি
The boy I met yesterday — গতকাল যার সঙ্গে দেখা হয়েছিল সেই ছেলেটি

🛡️ 2. What is Cyber Security?

English:
“Cyber Security means protecting our devices, accounts, and personal information from online threats.”

বাংলা:
“Cyber Security বা সাইবার নিরাপত্তা হলো আমাদের ডিভাইস, অ্যাকাউন্ট এবং ব্যক্তিগত তথ্যকে অনলাইন বিপদ থেকে রক্ষা করা।”

Example:
“Just like we lock our house to keep it safe, we use cyber security to protect our digital world.”

বাংলা:
“যেমন আমরা বাড়িকে নিরাপদ রাখার জন্য দরজায় তালা দিই, তেমনই আমাদের ডিজিটাল জগতকে নিরাপদ রাখার জন্য Cyber Security ব্যবহার করি।”

🎣 3. Beware of Phishing

English:
“Have you ever received a message saying, ‘Congratulations! You won a prize! Click here’? Be careful! It could be a phishing scam.”

বাংলা:
“কখনো কি এমন মেসেজ পেয়েছ — ‘অভিনন্দন! আপনি পুরস্কার জিতেছেন! এখানে ক্লিক করুন’? সাবধান! এটি একটি phishing scam হতে পারে।”

Remember:
👉 Don't click suspicious links!

🔐 4. Protect Your Password

English:
“Your password is like the key to your digital house. So keep it private!”

বাংলা:
“তোমার password হলো তোমার ডিজিটাল বাড়ির চাবির মতো। তাই এটি গোপন রাখো!”

English:
“Don't use easy passwords like your name or birthday. And never share your password with friends.”

বাংলা:
“তোমার নাম বা জন্মদিনের মতো সহজ password ব্যবহার করো না। আর বন্ধুদের সঙ্গেও password শেয়ার করো না।”

👤 5. Keep Personal Information Private

English:
“Never share important personal information online, such as your password, OTP, home address, or private photos.”

বাংলা:
“অনলাইনে কখনো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য শেয়ার করো না—যেমন password, OTP, বাড়ির ঠিকানা বা ব্যক্তিগত ছবি।”

📱 6. Be Careful on Social Media

English:
“Before posting something online, stop and think. Remember, information shared online can sometimes be difficult to remove completely.”

Number (সংখ্যা) কী?

ধরো, তোমার সামনে কিছু আপেল 🍎 আছে।

Gender (লিঙ্গ) কী?

ভাবো, তোমার বাড়িতে বাবা, মা, ভাই, বোন আছে।

👨 বাবা একজন পুরুষ।
👩 মা একজন নারী।
👦 ভাই একজন ছেলে।
👧 বোন একজন মেয়ে।

ইংরেজিতে আমরা ব্যক্তি, প্রাণী বা বস্তুর লিঙ্গ বোঝাতে Gender ব্যবহার করি।

👉 Gender আমাদের বলে কোনো Noun পুরুষ, নারী, সাধারণ বা জড়বস্তুকে বোঝায়।

🌟 প্রিপোজিশন কী?
ভাবো, তোমার একটি বল আছে। বলটি কোথায় আছে?
• বলটি টেবিলের উপর আছে।
• বলটি চেয়ারের নিচে আছে।
• বলটি বাক্সের ভিতরে আছে।
• বলটি গাছের পাশে আছে।

ক্রিয়া (Verb) – Junior English Grammar ছোটদের ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণ
আজ আমরা ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণের একটি খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় Verb (ক্রিয়া) সম্পর্কে শিখব।

Verb হলো এমন একটি শব্দ যা কোনো কাজ (Action), অবস্থা (State) বা ঘটনা (Occurrence) বোঝায়। সহজ কথায়, যে শব্দ দ্বারা কোনো ব্যক্তি, প্রাণী বা বস্তুর কাজ বা অবস্থা প্রকাশ পায়, তাকে Verb বা ক্রিয়া বলে।

উদাহরণ:
I play football. (আমি ফুটবল খেলি।)
She reads a book. (সে একটি বই পড়ে।)
The baby is sleeping. (শিশুটি ঘুমাচ্ছে।)
