EEE Day 3.0

EEE Day 3.0 held at Southern University Bangladesh to promote Innovation and Technology - The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), in collaboration with the EEE Club of Southern University Bangladesh, successfully organized EEE Day 3.0 on Sunday, May 03, 2026 at the university’s permanent campus in Arefin Nagar, Bayezid. The event aimed to foster innovation, creativity, and technological excellence among students.

The program was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor (Acting), Dr. Sharif Ashrafuzzaman. The event was graced by Engr. Md. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB, Chattogram), as the Chief Guest. And Engr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Managing Director of General Electric Manufacturing (GEM) Company Limited, was present as an honored speaker. Among other distinguished speakers were Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Mozammel Hoque, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering; A.F.M. Modasser Ali, Registrar; and Prof. Engr. Ashutosh Nath. The session was chaired by Farhana Hossain, Head, department of EEE, Esteemed alumni, faculty members, and departmental heads from various disciplines were also present.

The event featured a variety of competitive and engaging activities, including Robo Soccer, Line Following Robot, Circuit Solving, Poster Presentation, and Project Showcasing, with participation from students across multiple educational institutions.

In his keynote remarks, Chief Guest Engr. Md. Kamal Uddin Ahmed expressed his admiration, stating, “Such an initiative by Southern University truly impressed me.” He highlighted the importance of forward-thinking projects, particularly those focusing on vertical-axis wind turbines, solar energy, and electricity generation from waste. He emphasized the urgent need to explore alternative energy sources beyond fuel-dependent systems and encouraged long-term strategic planning for sustainable innovation.

Special Guest Engr. Md. Ashraful Islam underscored the significance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), emphasizing the integration of academic knowledge with industrial training. He also assured comprehensive support from General Electric Manufacturing Company Limited for industrial visits and training opportunities for EEE students. Following the competitions, students showcased their talents in a vibrant cultural program featuring recitation, dance, music, and drama performances. The program was concluded with a lively evening concert.

Organizers noted that the event not only enhanced students’ technical competencies but also nurtured creative thinking and collaboration. They expressed their commitment to organizing such initiatives on a broader scale in the future.

Competitions and Achievements
Five major competitions were held at EEE Day 3.0, where participants showcased their creativity and technical skills.
• Robo Soccer: Champion – Team Virus (A.K. Khan UCEP Polytechnic Institute)
• Line Following Robot: Champion – Team Squadron (PCIU)
• Project Exhibition: Champion – Team Esine (CPI)
• Poster Presentation: Champion – Team Anushandhani (Southern University Bangladesh)
• Circuit Solving: Winner – Mohammad Raju (Southern University Bangladesh)

Approximately 150 students participated in the competitions, including over 100 contestants from more than 25 institutions. The total prize pool exceeded BDT 60,000, making the event both prestigious and highly competitive.

Recognition and Farewell
Awards were presented to the winners during the prize-giving ceremony held as part of the day-long program. Additionally, an emotional farewell session was arranged to honor the graduating students, creating a memorable milestone in their academic journey.

Cultural and Musical Performances
In the evening, students from the EEE Department presented a captivating cultural program. This was followed by lively performances from popular bands Velocity and Amateur, which greatly entertained the audience and enhanced the festive atmosphere.

The event was successfully organized with the support of Automation BD, Neuro Care, Liza Elegance, and The English Academy.

Conclusion
EEE Day 3.0 was not merely an academic event but a remarkable showcase of the talent, innovation, and teamwork of young engineers in Bangladesh. With nationwide participation, attractive prizes, and a blend of technology and culture, the event became a memorable milestone for engineering students.

প্রযুক্তি ও উদ্ভাবনকে উৎসাহিত করতে সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ এর ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (ইইই) বিভাগ ও ইইই ক্লাবের উদ্যোগে গতকাল রবিবার স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাস বায়েজিদ আরেফিন নগরে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো ইইই ডে ৩.০। সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ এর উপাচার্য (ভারপ্রাপ্ত) ড. শরীফ আশরাফউজ্জামান উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে উদ্বোধক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ বিদ্যুৎ উন্নয়ন বোর্ড, চট্টগ্রাম এর প্রধান প্রকৌশলী মোঃ কামাল উদ্দিন আহম্মেদ এবং সম্মানিত বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেনারেল ইলেকট্রিক ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক প্রকৌশলী মোঃ আশরাফুল ইসলাম। বক্তব্য রাখেন বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদের ডিন অধ্যাপক প্রকৌশলী ড. মোঃ মোজাম্মেল হক, রেজিস্ট্রার এ এফ এম মোদাচ্ছের আলী ও অধ্যাপক প্রকৌশলী আশুতোষ নাথ এবং অনুষ্ঠানের সভাপতিত্ব করেন ইইই বিভাগের সম্মানিত বিভাগীয় প্রধান ফারহানা হোসাইন। এছাড়াও ইইই বিভাগের সম্মানিত এলামনাইসহ বিভিন্ন বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ও শিক্ষকবৃন্দ উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

বিভিন্ন শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে প্রধান ইভেন্টে রোবোসকার, লাইন ফলোয়িং রোবট, সার্কিট সল্ভিং, পোস্টার প্রেজেন্টেশন ও প্রজেক্ট শোকেসিং প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। অনুষ্ঠানের শুভ উদ্বোধন করেন উপাচার্য ড. শরীফ আশরাফউজ্জামান-সহ আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিবৃন্দ।

প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে প্রকৌশলী মোঃ কামাল উদ্দিন আহম্মেদ বলেন, “সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির এমন আয়োজন সত্যিই আমাকে মুগ্ধ করেছে”। বিশেষ করে প্রজেক্ট উপস্থাপনে তিনি তিনটি বিষয়ের উপর জোর দেন। বায়ু বিদ্যুৎ টারবাইন-এর ভার্টিকেল প্ল্যান, সৌর বিদ্যুৎ ও বর্জ্য থেকে বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনের প্রজেক্টগুলো বেশ যুগোপযোগী। ফুয়েল নির্ভল সিস্টেম থেকে বেরিয়ে এসে বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনের বিকল্প খুঁজতে হবে। সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে উপস্থাপিত প্রজেক্টগুলোর বিষয়ে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী পরিকল্পনা করলে ভবিষ্যতে সম্ভাবনার নতুন দ্বার উন্মোচিত হবে বলে তাঁর বিশ্বাস।

সম্মানিত বিশেষ অতিথি প্রকৌশলী মোঃ আশরাফুল ইসলাম তাঁর বক্তব্যে আউটকাম বেজড এডুকেশন (OBE) সিস্টেম বাস্তবায়নের উপর জোর দেন। প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক পড়াশুনার সাথে সাথে ইন্ডাস্ট্রিতে প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে তাত্ত্বিক ও ব্যবহারিক শিক্ষার মধ্যে সম্মন্বয় সাধনের প্রয়োজনীয়তার ব্যাখ্যা করেন। এ লক্ষ্যে সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ এর ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (ইইই) বিভাগের জন্য জিইএম কোং লিমিটেড-এ পরিদর্শন ও প্রশিক্ষণের যাবতীয় সহযোগিতার আশ্বাস প্রদান করেন।

প্রতিযোগিতা শেষে ইইই বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা এক বর্ণাঢ্য সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। আবৃত্তি, নাচ, গান এবং নাট্য পরিবেশন এর মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা দর্শকদের মনোমুগ্ধ করেন। সন্ধ্যায় এক বিশেষ কনসার্ট এর মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠানের পর্দা নামানো হয়। অনুষ্ঠানটি শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রযুক্তিগত দক্ষতা বিকাশের পাশাপাশি সৃজনশীল চিন্তাধারাকে উৎসাহিত করেছে বলে মনে করছেন আয়োজকরা। ভবিষ্যতে এই ধরনের প্রতিযোগিতা আরো ব্যাপক পরিসরে আয়োজনের পরিকল্পনার কথা জানান সংশ্লিষ্টরা।

প্রতিযোগিতা ও সাফল্য
ইইই ডে ৩.০-তে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় পাঁচটি প্রধান প্রতিযোগিতা, যেখানে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা প্রদর্শন করেন তাদের সৃজনশীলতা ও প্রযুক্তিগত দক্ষতা।
- রোবো সকার: চ্যাম্পিয়ন – টিম ভাইরাস (এ কে খান ইউসেপ পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউট)
- লাইন ফলোয়িং রোবট: চ্যাম্পিয়ন – টিম স্কোয়াড্রন (পিসিআইইউ)
- প্রজেক্ট প্রদর্শনী: চ্যাম্পিয়ন – টিম এসিনই (সিপিআই)
- পোস্টার প্রেজেন্টেশন: চ্যাম্পিয়ন – টিম অনুসন্ধানী (সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ)
- সার্কিট সলভিং: বিজয়ী – মোহাম্মদ রাজু (সাউদার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ)

প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেয় প্রায় ১৫০ জন শিক্ষার্থী, যার মধ্যে ২৫টিরও বেশি প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে শতাধিক প্রতিযোগী যুক্ত ছিলেন। প্রতিযোগিতার মোট পুরস্কারের অর্থ ছিল ৬০,০০০ টাকারও বেশি, যা প্রতিযোগিতাকে করেছে মর্যাদাপূর্ণ ও আকর্ষণীয়।

সম্মাননা ও বিদায়
দিনব্যাপী আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে বিজয়ীদের সম্মাননা দেওয়া হয়। পাশাপাশি আবেগঘন বিদায় অনুষ্ঠানে বিদায়ী শিক্ষার্থীদের সম্মান জানানো হয়, যা তাদের একাডেমিক জীবনের স্মরণীয় মুহূর্ত হয়ে থাকবে।

সাংস্কৃতিক ও সঙ্গীত পরিবেশনা
সন্ধ্যায় ইইই বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীদের পরিবেশনায় মনোমুগ্ধকর সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এরপর জনপ্রিয় ব্যান্ড ভেলোসিটি এবং অ্যামেচার-এর প্রাণবন্ত পরিবেশনা দর্শকদের মুগ্ধ করে, যা উৎসবের আবহকে আরও প্রাণবন্ত করে তোলে।

পৃষ্ঠপোষকতা
অনুষ্ঠানটি সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হয় অটোমেশন বিডি, নিউরো কেয়ার, লিজা এলিগেন্স এবং দ্যা ইংলিশ একাডেমি -এর সহযোগিতায়।

উপসংহার
ইইই ডে ৩.০ ছিল কেবল একটি একাডেমিক উৎসব নয়, বরং বাংলাদেশের তরুণ প্রকৌশলীদের প্রতিভা, উদ্ভাবনী ক্ষমতা ও দলগত চেতনার এক অনন্য প্রদর্শনী। সারাদেশের অংশগ্রহণ, আকর্ষণীয় পুরস্কার এবং প্রযুক্তি ও সংস্কৃতির সমন্বয়ে এই আয়োজন হয়ে উঠেছে প্রকৌশল শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য এক স্মরণীয় মাইলফলক।
