Orientation Program for Fall-26 successfully Held by the Department of EEE and ECE

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Southern University Bangladesh organized its orientation program for the Fall 2026 semester on Monday, July 20, 2026. The event commenced at 11:00 AM and was arranged to welcome newly admitted students to the department.

The program was graced by the honorable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sharif Ashrafuzzaman, as the Chief Guest along with the respected registrar, A.F.M Modassar Ali and respected dean of science faculty Prof. Dr. Engr. Md Muzammel Haque. Respected faculty members of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department were also present, making the occasion more meaningful and memorable. The program started with a motivational and advisory speech delivered by Prof. Ashutosh Nath, who encouraged students to remain focused, disciplined, and determined throughout their academic journey. After that the honorable vice-chancellor, the registrar and the dean also shared their valuable thoughts about the university.

The orientation program provided an opportunity for faculty members and students to become acquainted, fostering a supportive and collaborative academic environment. During the session, the teachers clearly explained the university and departmental rules and regulations and advised students on the discipline, dedication, and ethical conduct required to achieve success in their journey toward becoming professional engineers. The program also included student participation, where two students delivered brief speeches, sharing their thoughts, concerns, and expectations as they experienced throughout their academic journey.

Mr. Rubel Kanti Das, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, conducted the main session, introducing students to the academic structure, code of conduct, and expectations of the department. He also briefed the students on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum and informed them about the availability of extra classes and academic support initiatives designed to assist students who may face academic challenges.

The program concluded with a closing speech by Ms. Farhana Hossain, Head of the Department of EEE, who expressed her appreciation for the participation of faculty members and warmly welcomed the students, emphasizing the importance of sincerity, integrity, and innovation in engineering education.
