Modifier
I'm going to discuss about modifier. I will try to make it easy and clear. Modifier is one of the complicated items in Grammar. We know that there are eight types of Parts of Speech. Of them, adjective and adverb are used as modifiers.

Adjective modifies noun and pronoun.

Adverb modifies the parts of speech specially adjectives, verbs and other adberbs without Noun and Pronoun.

Before going through the modifier, we should know about Adjective and Adverb clearly.

However, Let' discuss about modifier.

Definition: A modifier is a word, phrase, or clause that gives information about another word in the same sentence.
For example,
Mr. Jhon is trying to settle the controversial matter.
In the following sentence, the word "matter" is modified by the word "controversial".

There are two types of modifier according to its usage.
1. Post Modifier: A modifier that comes afterwards is called a "postmodifier."
2. Pre-modifier: modifier that comes before whatever it modifies is called a "premodifier".
