How do you measure the usability of AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Bing Chat?
Recent research used the System Usability Scale (SUS) and Heuristic Evaluation (HE) to compare them. ChatGPT scored above 70 on SUS, showing strong usability and user satisfaction, while Bard and Bing scored lower. HE found usability issues in all three, but ChatGPT had fewer and less severe problems.
This study shows how important ongoing usability testing is as AI chatbots improve. For businesses and users, choosing chatbots that are both powerful and easy to use can make all the difference.

Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Badrul Alam, Professor, Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), has been awarded an External Research Grant from the Hydrocarbon Unit, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

His research project, titled “Evaluation of the Suitability of Open-pit and Underground Mining Methods for the Northern Area of Barapukuria Coal Mine, Bangladesh,” aims to identify the most suitable and sustainable mining approaches for one of the country’s major coal deposits. The findings are expected to support national energy planning through data-driven insights and innovative geological assessment.

At MIST, we are proud to see our faculty leading impactful research that directly contributes to Bangladesh’s industrial growth, energy security, and sustainable resource management. This achievement by Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Badrul Alam reflects MIST’s unwavering commitment to advancing science, technology, and national development.
