Courtesy Call to the Minister, Ministry of Education.
A high-level Representatives from the European University of Bangladesh made a courtesy call to the Honourable Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon at his Office at Bangladesh Secretariat on 28 April 2026.
The EUB Representatives consisted of the Founder of the EUB Prof. Dr. Mokbul Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Ahmed Farhad Khan, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Ghulam Murtaza and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Designate) Prof. Dr. Golam Ahmed Faruqui.
The meeting took place in a cordial spirit and the issues centred around arranging convocation, enhancing research budget and overall development of the University catering to the needs of the students. The Representatives confirmed that EUB never compromises with the quality of education with affordable budget. For its proactive efforts EUB has occupied a commendable position in the landscape of Higher Education in Bangladesh.
The Education Minister highly lauded the role of EUB and assured of providing all possible supports to shape the dream of the students.
Respected Members of the Parliament Mr. Selimuzzaman Mollah, Dr. KM Babar and Mr. S M Jilani also graced the courtesy call with the Education Minister.
Bangladesh U-20 football team became the 2026 SAFF U-20 Champion is a very proud moment for all of us. โค๏ธโฝ Everyone is celebrating this amazing victory. One moment that caught everyoneโs attention was Ronan Sullivanโs last penalty goal ๐ That was not a normal shot; it is called a Panenka penalty.
A Panenka penalty is a special type of shot where the player softly chips the ball straight in the middle of the goal, instead of kicking it hard to the left or right. The idea is to trick the goalkeeper, because most goalkeepers dive to one side. So when the ball goes slowly through the center, it becomes very difficult to stop.
๐ง This style of penalty was first introduced by Antonรญn Panenka in 1976 during the UEFA Euro 1976 Final. Since then, it has become one of the most stylish and risky shots in football.
โฝ Players use this shot to surprise the goalkeeper and to show confidence. But it is also very risky. If the goalkeeper does not move, the shot can be easily saved. Thatโs why it needs courage and perfect timing.
๐ช Ronan Sullivanโs penalty shows great confidence and calmness under pressure. Moments like this make football more exciting and beautiful. Once again, congratulations to Bangladesh for this wonderful achievement. ๐
