This week was African Awareness Week at Graydon Sealy Secondary School and there were a number of initiatives that we embarked on. We held a African spelling bee competition and a transatlantic slave trade quiz. Each department was also encouraged to create a “Did You Know?” corner. My students and I went to work on transforming the classroom while learning all about key historical events and the contributions made by outstanding black people. Hit up the comment section and let us know how we did!!
