Today, I completed my swim for in honor of the birthday of my heavenly bestie I wanted to raise £500 and thanks to all you flipping awesome people I got £730. If you want to add to that the link is in my bio. This swim has meant so much to me in so many ways.
I spent time reflecting on the people I love and miss in my life who lost their battle with cancer.
Committing to a cause and seeing it through has been such an achievement for me, as it’s so easy to let things fall by the wayside when life feels so busy.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting back in the pool. It has reconnected me with a part of myself I know so well but hadn’t really known for many years. I used to swim all the time as a child in a club, and later on as I got older, but I stopped once I had kids. My pool time became all about them… until now.
It’s been wonderful to reignite my joy for being in the water and to feel that dopamine hit afterward. But most of all, during every single one of the 400 lengths I swam, I felt grateful—grateful to be healthy and able to do this to raise money for cancer research, working toward cures for a disease that hits so close to home.
In addition, I want to dedicate this contribution to cancer research to my beautiful, strong, and incredible niece Maisie, who is halfway through her treatment for leukemia. She is one of the bravest little chickabeans I know.
Thank you, for all you do for us all.

When I say I am a bespoke coach and tailor each session to the needs of my client that is exactly what I do. Yesterday this session was about brainstorming ideas around my clients business and helping her unpick her overstimulated, passionate mind. Because this client is an artist and highly creative and visual we got on the floor with a large roll of paper and a big bag of pens, as that felt the right way to get it all out of her head so we could then break it down to get better clarity, understanding and action points around some of the key elements that were her blocks. Watching my clients leave with greater clarity and awareness about the place they are in, where they are heading and what they need to do to get there, is so powerful. If you hadn’t guessed. I LOVE COACHING!

If you have woken up and read the news today and sat with a heavy heart as you watch the American elections play out, wondering how on earth this craziness can happen, when the world is crying out for so much healing. Then I urge you to take a moment, a deep breathe and a commitment to your mindset to not allow the things that we have so little control over take hold of our happiness and hope for the future.
If you click on my linktree in my bio there is a downloadable free resource on my website that I often use called “Reclaim your Peace”. This exercise is based on Stephen Covey’s concept of the Circle of Influence, introduced in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This is a powerful tool for shifting one’s mindset toward a proactive, empowered approach to challenges. Check it out

One of the key pillars of wellbeing is known to be your environment and how the places you spend time in impact your happiness and productivity. Recently I found myself seriously procrastinating from sitting down at my desk and doing the “boring” business side of my job. My energy is always fully committed in the face to face coaching but when it comes to the admin I seem able to find so many other things to do. Once I acknowledged it, I thought about what I needed to do to change the outcome, so I did up my office. A new desk and chair, new curtains. I made the space a joy to be in. Now I have found myself with 3 new clients and renewed energy for the behind the scenes stuff I used to avoid. I was also lucky enough to be able to lean on one of my best friends and one of the most inspiring business women I know to do this. Thank you for the beautiful fabrics and designs around me to help keep me focused and realise that when you set your mind to it anything is achievable. Check out her new range at Next. My new blinds are gorgeous.

One of the most important parts of being a life coach is building a relationship of trust with my clients. They say people will never remember what you did but they will always remember how you made them feel. Making sure they feel safe enough to open up so that we can really go deep and uncover what is holding them back, is so fundamental to successful and lasting transformation. If you need someone you can trust to listen and help uncover some of the blocks that are stopping you moving forward with peace then give me a shout. Sometimes just a few sessions can help you gain clarity and confidence.

Eliza and I had such a wonderful day last week facilitating a wellbeing afternoon for the staff of Westbury on Trym Primary care. It was a such a privilege to be able to support all the staff in taking time out of their schedule to focus on their own wellbeing and mental health. We had a wonderful afternoon with a wellbeing MOT workshop, yoga and meditation, delicious food and some incredible activities that allowed the team to spend time together having fun and thinking about the micro changes that they can make in their own lives to support and prioritise their own wellbeing. Events like this are so important for the workplace to enable staff to be better and more equipped to face what they deal with at work day to day. If you are interested in an event like this at your place please get in touch.

13 years ago my friend Hendri lost his life tragically to a crocodile on an expedition in the DRC. The copy of his memoir was recovered from his kayak and a group of friends and family worked to publish his story in his honour.
Living the Best Day Ever is now available as POD (Print on Demand) on various platforms. So people from most countries will now have access to the book. We have a very limited number of hardcover, 1st Edition, books still in stock. USA 4; Europe/UK 3; NZ 10; SA 48. Thank you to each and every person who bought, or promoted, the book. 10 years ago the Trust printed 3000 copies, and this is all that is left. Quite an achievement considering the fact there was never a formal marketing campaign. Word of mouth mostly did it! Just proved again the power of the social network of friends and readers.
We are so proud to have been able to help keep Hendri's legacy alive and sharing his journey through the publishing of his book!
With gratitude, Hendri Coetzee Trust

Calling all well-being service providers in Bristol. Hi there. I know I have been very quite on here recently. I have got lots of exciting things in development. One of them I need your help with. I am working on a little project for my Well-being At Work programme, and I am looking to compile a list of any well-being services or providers that would be willing to give an NHS discount and would like to be included in a handout I will be giving out at a well-being event I am attending.

Are you ok at being s**t at things? Do you have an idea of something you want to do and find every excuse you can not to do it? Do you berate yourself for not getting on with it?
It’s taken me a long time to realise that in the past what has held me back at getting started is the risk of failure and not being good enough, the fear that perhaps I will be exposed as less than capable and the vulnerability of moving out of your comfort zone into an area that I feel completely incompetent in.
What I have learnt is that if we reframe our mindset and our relationship with our challenge we can overcome the inner critic.
Today I took my rd bike out for a ride. I got the bike a year ago and on its maiden voyage I nearly fell off it after a lorry came too close. It has sat in the garage for a year un touched. The inner critic telling me that I am no good at rd biking and me finding every excuse under the sun why I am too busy to try again. Today after an amazing session with a client I realised exactly what was happening. I was letting my inner critic and negative self talk stop me from getting started at a sport that I have always wanted to do. I decided to practice what I preach and reframe my thinking as a challenge to get started, accept the learning as a challenge, embrace the imperfection and do it anyway. I set my own boundaries and started at my own pace but I got started and I loved it. I have a long way to go but I smiled all through my ride at the fact that I was able to laugh at my inner critic as I waved them goodbye.
