So you may have heard the viral song "I am from Bosnia, take me to Amerika" by , but maybe you also heard fans singing, "Poljem se širi miris ljiljana" by . Just watch the fans move like trains through the unfamiliar streets in big cities, singing it. It is typical of to be represented by two songs, one utterly satirical about the and the other a sentimental . Both tell you something about our being. The love song goes, "The smell of lilies is spreading across the field, and the flowers smell like my darling. And the small swallows are coming back from the south, as if bringing her love back to me." The lilies are symbolic of , and they are on our old flag under which we were accepted into the . As a Bosnian Swede, I want both my countries to be the best they can be. I want them to be great again, to use this charged phrase, because I do not think they are that great now. Yes, I look at both with some nostalgia because I remember what they were in different periods of my life.
