Sevda Zargarova - senior lecturer of Chemical Engineering Department of Baku Higher Oil School attended International conference named `Advances in Surfaces, Interfaces and Interphases 2022`, which was organized by one of the greatest publication organization ELSEVIER. Several researcher from USA, Portugal, China, Finland, Italy, Canada, Israel, India and Qatar gathered together within 4 days. Advances in Surfaces, Interfaces and Interphases 2022 brought together plenary and keynote speakers, contributed talks and posters to highlight the latest research in all areas of surfaces and interfaces. Abstract titled ‘Synthesis and study of ammonium salt-type derivative of hexadecylamine propoxylates with hydrochloric acid’ by Sevda Zargarova, has been accepted and demonstrated for an Poster Presentation.

We congratulate Arzu Behbudova (Senior Researcher of Chemical Engineering Department of Baku Higher Oil School) for winning third place in Technical Session- HSE under the supervision of our Senior Lecturer Sevda Zargarova with scientific research “SYNTHESIS OF SURFACTANTS BASED ON HEXADECYLAMINE AND PROPYLENE OXIDE” at the XIII International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress - Oil and Gas Horizons.
Arzu Behbudova holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from BHOS, and she is currently studying MSc Oil and Gas Technology at the same university.
The Congress is annually organized by the Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter. More than 219 participants from 45 universities of 30 countries have participated in the congress, this year.

We are delighted and proud to announce that our 4th-year chemical engineering students Javid Isayev and Farid Gahramanov under the supervision of our faculty member Hajar Nabiyeva and Ilhama Zarbaliyeva (Institute of Petrochemical Processes) earned second place at the Earth, Energy, and Environment (E3) international Student Conference and Technical Presentations Contest which was held virtually on 8-9 November 2021.
More than 2700 students from 400 universities and 77 countries attended the conference which was organized by the Marietta College and the University of Houston.
We congratulate our students for their incredible performance and for making us proud through their achievements😁

On November 2, during the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, more than 100 participants pledged to reduce global methane emissions by 30% from 2020 levels by 2030. One of the works demonstrated in the subject summit, draw huge attention.
A new lab-scale autothermal hydrogen-permeable reactor model proposed by the researchers at the University of Maryland converts methane to valuable products without producing CO2.
Sometimes it is uneconomical to transport produced Natural gas from remote production sites to where it can be used. In such cases, the produced gas is simply vented or flared, which has a myriad of adverse effects on the environment.
Eric Wachsman, who led the work with his colleague Dongxia Liu says:
“Converting the gas to a liquid, like benzene, would mean it becomes economical to put it in a barrel or a pipeline and take it away”.
Direct nonoxidative methane conversion (DNMC) transforms CH4 to higher (C2+) hydrocarbons and H2 in a single step. But it is feasibility is questioned since the methane equilibrium conversion was low which was coupled with the carbon deposition problem and endothermic reaction energy requirement. The modifications to the conventional reaction tackle each of the mentioned problems.

Eskişehir Teknik Universitetinin Kimya mühəndisliyi ve Ətraf Mühit mühəndisliyi və Bakı Ali Neft Məktəbinin Kimya mühəndisliyi kafedraları arasında əməkdaşlığın artırılması və ortaq bir layihənin keçirilməsi üçün 18 İyun 2021-ci il tarixində ZOOM üzərindən görüş keçirilmişdir. Həmçinin, görüşdə hər iki universitetin mühəndislik fakültəsinin dekanlığı iştirak etmişdir. İlkin tanışlıq və görüşün keçirilmə səbəbləri müzakirə olunmuş və 5 iyulda yeni bir görüşün keçirilməsi planlanmışdır.
