At the 5th Experiential Learning Conference , Salome Betchvaia and Tiko Silagadze from European School Tbilisi delivered an insightful session titled “Integrating Science across all subjects (PYP).”
Their presentation underscored the central role of transdisciplinary inquiry and scientific exploration in shaping meaningful and impactful learning experiences within the Primary Years Programme. They highlighted how weaving scientific concepts into diverse subjects empowers young learners to take ownership of their curiosity, make connections across disciplines, and actively engage with the world around them. They showed how breaking down subject silos helps primary educators initiate purposeful action in curriculum design and fosters a strong sense of responsibility in students to apply critical thinking and inquiry skills to real-world phenomena.

She highlighted how transforming the classroom into an active incubator empowers learners to take ownership of their creative concepts, collaborate dynamically, and actively engage with real-world economic challenges. She showed how guiding students through a structured simulation lab helps educators initiate purposeful action in project-based learning and fosters a strong sense of responsibility in students to develop resilient, pitch-ready ideas.

Congratulations to the students of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University on successfully completing the “Strategies to Become an IB Teacher” professional development workshops and earning their internationally recognized CCAAIBWS certificates.

At the certificate ceremony, Rector Jafar Jafarov and Vice-Rector Eldar Aslanov highlighted the importance of preparing future educators with international teaching approaches and congratulated the participants on this significant achievement.

The workshops were led by Francesco Banchini, CEO & Director of the European Azerbaijan School and Chairman of CCAAIBWS, who commended the participants for embracing the IB philosophy and modern teaching approaches. He also shared his admiration for their intelligence, curiosity, and remarkable adaptability, describing the exchange of knowledge with such promising future educators as a truly rewarding experience.

We congratulate every participant on this well-deserved achievement and wish them every success in their teaching journey.
