Book donations still welcome till September 30th🌸
We've been moved by the generous donations of books we received so far for our first fundraising event 'second-hand book sale'. We've bumped the fundraising to a date further in the year and are therefore still welcoming donations of books!
LHS believes in the power of the mind, the importance of reading, and easy, affordable accessibility to knowledge!
Help LHS stimulate more reading in our community by donating your books. The collected fund will go back into our pilot projects in 2022.

Hi hi hi, happy day to you!🌸 Today we want to take the opportunity to express our gratitude for the following achievements.
Firstly, we wanted to extend an immense thank you to the individuals who have kindly donated amazing, good quality, educational and interesting books for our upcoming fundraising book sale (we will be providing more information on this, this month). Thank you, thank you, thank you🌸
Lastly, we wanted to extend another immense thank you to all the people who are liking, sharing and commenting on our posts but most importantly, following us on all our social media platforms. We have reached 256 likes on our page. Thank you, thank you, thank you🌸
We are a beginning/new foundation, planting our seeds slowly in the community, but we are ready to show more and excited to share on what is coming.

Hi hi hi, happy day for you!🌸 We are delighted to introduce our dynamic President: Siouxsie K**k!
A ageless woman, with a degree in “Docent Uiterlijke Verzorging '' and facilitator of personal leadership, with a focus on women leadership. Siouxsie is currently working as a single mother (her most important job) and director of Heart-Centered Leadership Foundation. If you know Siouxsie, you know that she is a caring, honest, open, empowering, trustworthy, dependable and has a golden heart. A random fact to know about Siouxsie is that she loves to be free. Free to choose, free to be herself, free to visualize, free to move into life without bagages and free to go for it. She loves to feel this freedom when she rides her bike. When Siouxsie was asked what motivated her to start the foundation, she answered: "My two purposes in this life is to empower youth and empower women. I have worked on empowering youth and now I am ready to start this journey to inspire, empower and guide other women on their path to reconnect with their true self and unleash their full potentials".

Hi hi hi, happy day for you🌸! We are delighted to introduce our fifth Board Member: Keyla Rojas!
Keyla is our "Board Secretary". A young woman of 33 years old, with a bachelor's degree in Social Work and Development from the University of Aruba and working as a project coordinator at Heart-Centered Leadership Foundation. If you know Keyla, you know that she is always willing to lend a helping hand, a dreamer, a planner and determined. Random facts to know about Keyla is that she loves traveling and photography. When Keyla was asked what motivated her to join the foundation, she answered: "I grew up surrounded by strong and independent women who inspired me in many ways, but I also realize that as women, inherently, we tend to devalue ourselves: our work, our impact, our potential. I believe strongly in mentorship and leading with compassion. If we can empower young women from a young age to know who they are and not be formed by societal expectations, we will have a generation of determined, strong, women in different leadership positions".

Hi hi hi, happy day for you🌸! We are delighted to introduce our fourth Board Member: Denise Puijk!
Denise is our "Strategy Director." A young woman of 29 years old, with a bachelors degree in Pedagogic from ‘Hogeschool van Utrecht’ and working as a grant- and project advisor at Heart-Centered Leadership Foundation. She has also been operating for 7 years as project manager working with youths in the Netherlands. If you know Denise, you know that she is open-minded, eager to learn, loyal and responsible. She is also a believer in seeing the good in everyone. Random facts to know about Denis is that she recently has passed her A1 course in Papiamento, you can wake her anytime with dark chocolate, she loves having plants in her home and that her first volunteer experience included organizing activities for children from single parent families who were on holidays in Spain. When Denise was asked what motivated her to join the foundation, she answered: "Everything you pay attention to grows. My contribution to this organization is that I want to inspire girls and women to feel good about themselves and to pursue their dreams. I think we can make a difference in the world with a little more feminine energy.".

Hi hi hi, happy day for you🌸! We are delighted to introduce our third Board Member: Ashna Thijsen!
Ashna is our "Marketing Director." A young woman of 21 years old, currently studying Social Work and Development at the University of Aruba and working as a youth coordinator and podcast host at Heart-Centered Leadership Foundation. If you know Ashna, you know that she is a nurturing, courageous and childlike-spirited individual who loves to dive into new and exciting ambitions all the time. She has a passion for art. A random fact to know about Ashna is that she is a huge foodie and loves to cook. When Ashna was asked what motivated her to join the foundation, she answered: "In our culture, women and girls are often taught that they have to compromise to societal genders roles and norms. I joined the LHS, because I believe that we have a responsibility to reform this cultural phenomenon. I believe in the capacity of making my own decisions for my life as a woman and I want to empower other girls and women to feel that they can exert control over their life choices".
