Wow what an amazing day we had today with our awesome Sports Day. Huge congratulations to the Marlins for sneaking home with the win. But Barras you were sensational! It was great day filled with lots of sport, lots of smiles and lots of fun. Our school values shone bright as the students were brilliant. A massive thanks to all the families who came today and to all the staff and to Smithfield State High School Tropical North Learning Academy Grade 12 students who were superstars. Days like today allow everyone to shine and really bring the community together. Have a great weekend everyone!

Our Sports Day events are well underway in preparation for the main event on Friday. Huge congratulations to all our Grade 4, 5 and 6 students who completed in the 1500m event this afternoon. Well done superstars!

Focus skill of the week: we are determined - we always try our best and use a growth mindset.

Just a reminder to all Grade 3 to 6 students that swimming permission notes are due THIS TUESDAY 16TH OF JUNE. Intensive swimming lessons start Monday 13th of July. Five lessons for $48.

It's a big week of sport at Yorkeys!!
We have Sports Day on Friday 19th from 9am to 3pm. We also have the 800m on Tuesday 11am and 1500m on Thursday 2pm for nominated Grade 4, 5 and 6 students. Parents and families are more than welcome. Remember dress up and show your support! See you all there.

Congratulations to our PBL award winners who received their certificates on parade this morning for demonstrating the school values. Well done superstars!

Well that's a wrap on three fun filled big days of writing, singing and filming our brand new school song. A huge thanks to Josh Arnold for his amazing work and to all the students and staff for their great energy and passion for this project. The song will be out in early Term 3.

Recording and filming of the school song has begun. Here are just a small snippet of what we have been up to. It is going to be beyond amazing.
