The adult literacy workforce crisis continues to overshadow work at the Hotline. As well as making it difficult to refer our callers, the lack of skilled teachers puts at risk other initiatives to address literacy, numeracy or digital gaps around the country. Public awareness campaigns, accessing free TAFE places, First Nations projects, tutoring in libraries....the long-term success of so many initiatives depends on a robust professional workforce.
