Ms Hamilton had some very special visitors from 2RU today!
These clever students have been working hard on their compound sentences and were very excited to come and share their learning. Ms Hamilton loved hearing their sentences and was so proud of the confidence and enthusiasm they showed.

🐝 Spelling Bee Success! 🐝

A huge congratulations to all of our students who took part in the 2026 Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee! 📚✨

We are so proud of everyone who challenged themselves, put their spelling skills to the test and gave it their best shot.

And we have some very exciting news…

🎉 We have 9 students from Years 3–6 who have progressed to the State/Territory Finals! 🎉

What an amazing achievement!

We wish our nine finalists the very best of luck as they take on the next round. 🐝🍀 We’ll be cheering them on and can’t wait to see how they go!

Today, our Year 4, 5 & 6 students were treated to a special visit from the talented Taroona State High School Band!
The Concert Band and Stage Band performed a fantastic range of medleys, including some much-loved movie favourites — and of course, we couldn’t forget the Bluey theme song!
It was wonderful to see our students enjoying live music and being inspired by these talented young musicians.
A huge thank you to Taroona State High School for visiting YSS and sharing your music with us!
