👋 "I have a stupid question..."
Those five little words are one of my favourite things to hear in a lesson.
Because in all my years of coaching, I have never heard a stupid question.
Not one.
Every rider you admire was once a beginner. Every coach you respect only knows what they know because of years of practice, mistakes, frustration, setbacks, sore muscles, and those magical moments when everything finally clicks.
You're not paying me to judge you. You're paying me to help you. That includes asking the questions you're too embarrassed or nervous to ask.
In fact, if you're asking questions, it tells me you're thinking. You're trying to understand, not just copy. That's exactly how good horsemen and horsewomen are made.
And if I explain something and it still doesn't make sense...
Please tell me.
I don't expect every explanation to click the first time. I'll happily explain it a different way, use another example, or show you another exercise until it does. That's my job.
Whether you've been riding for six weeks or sixty years, there will always be something new to learn.
So please, ask the "stupid" question.
They're usually the best ones. ❤️
