Last week, our students from PP to Year 6 enjoyed an enriching visit to the WA Museum! 🏛️✨

Our PP, Year 1 and Year 2 students participated in the Custodians of Country workshop, where they were encouraged to step back into the ‘cold time’, Nyitting, and explore the powerful beginnings of creation. Through the deep knowledge of Nyoongar Boodja (Country), passed down through generations through oral histories, students discovered how the land, people, animals and sky were formed, and the important ways in which Country continues to be cared for.

Our Year 3–6 students took part in the Cultural Collisions workshop, exploring the early encounters and interactions between Aboriginal peoples of Western Australia and a variety of newcomers. The workshop provided students with valuable insights into the different cultures, perspectives and experiences that shaped our shared history.

It was a wonderful day of learning and discovery, with our students walking away with a deeper appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal culture, history and connection to Country. 💙💛

A big thank you to the WA Museum for providing such informative and engaging learning experiences for our students and a big thankyou to our P&C for providing a delicious lunch & snacks!

Check out our amazing Year 5 and Year 6 students, who completed 150 squats today as part of the ROAR Inc. Program (Resilience, Optimism, Altruism and Respect – for self and others)! 💪

Throughout this term, the students in Room 9 will be working towards earning 'Super Human' status by completing weekly physical challenges and performing acts of kindness. Through these activities, they'll be building their resilience, self-esteem, confidence and capability, while learning the importance of looking after themselves and supporting others.
