At Sandy Beach PS we embrace and celebrate the cultural diversity of our students. Abhiveer, proudly represented his Indian culture this weekend at the Curry Festival by performing an Indian dance in front of a large audience. It was lovely to see teachers and classmates there to celebrate with him. We are very proud of you Abhiveer.

Stage 3 have been working hard on their projects this term! Designing new 'big things of Australia'! During this activity, students were tasked to design a brand new big thing, give reasons for it's inclusion and how it would benefit the town they put it in! We were blown away with the detail and reasoning they gave - well done!

Look at this beautiful book 1 Blue has made using inspiration from mentor text The Black Book of Colours. Each page has stunning descriptions of colours and their own form of braille inside. Stunning work 1 Blue!

We are EXTREMELY excited with the progress Mrs McNab and students across the school, are making on the refurbishment of our beautiful bottle top mural!

Originally this mural was created by past parent and local artist/ educator Mrs Tianne Albrow. With the help of students designs and countless hours of hard work, Tianne created this stunning piece of art that our school and many others nation wide have loved and been inspired by.

With time and weather the plastic bottle tops collected by our school have deteriorated and broken… just like the micro plastics in our oceans! 🌊

Over the past few years we have gathered more bottle tops for this project, however WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are still requiring CLEAN, FLAT bottle tops of:
ORANGE,
YELLOW,
PINK,
LIGHT BLUE,
PURPLE,
GREEN
and any WHITE whipped cream tops.

So get hunting and collecting SANDY BEACH!

Kindergarten transition visit 5. was another great hit!

Our littlest students were settled, happy, understood the routine in place and were developing new friendships with ease. This resulted in students having fun!!!

Our SBPS transition program provides 7 sessions, along with an initial bbq and play after school hours with parents and a parent information expo visit.

Year after year our pioneer program for the local area has resulted in students that have transitioned into school life successfully and happily, making one of the biggest transitions in their life a much more easier process.

We are proud to say that many other schools are following our program design with wonderful results for students!

Thursday was a sea of yellow instead of our usual beautiful blue school colours.

Thank you to students, parents and staff for supporting this powerful and important day - R U OK?

At Sandy Beach PS we learn that any day is a day to check in on our mates. We also learn that a smile or including someone in play can make a big difference in someone’s day!

Even Sandy B BEAR got involved in the day on his yellow trike!
