Woodvale SC P&C needs a Treasurer

Our P&C is currently operating with a combined Secretary/Treasurer role so that we can continue to function, but this is not a sustainable position for the Association long-term.

We are looking for someone who may be willing to step into the Treasurer role and help support the financial governance of the P&C.

Importantly, we already have a bookkeeper who does the vast majority of the day-to-day financial work. The Treasurer role can therefore be as hands-on or hands-off as the person is comfortable with.

You do not need to be an accountant — just someone who is organised, reliable, and willing to work with the Executive team to help keep the P&C running properly.

The role may suit someone with bookkeeping, finance, business admin, payroll, committee, or small business experience — but none of these are essential.

This is a practical and meaningful way to support the school community without needing to take on every detail yourself.

Large Cash Notes

A friendly reminder that our canteen has limited cash change available, so high denomination notes can be difficult for staff to process.

Where possible, please remind students to use smaller notes/coins or use cashless payment options if possible.

Host a Japanese student for one week and receive $550.

Hi everyone 👋 We have a group of students coming to Woodvale Secondary College for a short 10-night stay, and are looking to place them with warm local families in the school community so they can experience our Aussie way of life 🇦🇺🇯🇵

Students are aged 14–15 (male and female) and attend school during the day, in the evening and on the weekend they simply become part of your everyday life joining you for dinner, walks with the dog and everyday activities. It’s an incredible family experience that introduces culture and connection at home.

Program details:
• Dates: 24 July - 3 August
• School: Woodvale Secondary College
• Hosting payment: $550 for one student

All host families are assessed for suitability and 100% supported throughout the stay, with full bilingual support provided — backed by over 20 years of experience running student homestay programs.

Our Term 2 P&C General Meeting is on next Tuesday 5th May 2026 at 5:30pm in the School Staff room.

We're still looking for someone to join the Office Bearers as Treasurer (which just quietly is an easy Office Bearer role because we have an awesome bookkeeper).

All welcome, no obligations for a role. Our general meetings are always under an hour - Would love to see you there! Year 7 or 8 parents, it's a great way to be part of the school community!

Our P&C Annual General Meeting is coming up and all parents and carers are warmly invited to attend.

The AGM is an important opportunity to hear about what the P&C has achieved over the past year, understand how funds are used to support the school, and be involved in shaping priorities for the year ahead. All P&C committee positions are declared vacant at the AGM, and office bearers are elected.

The Year 10 Child Care students are proud to once again support the Share the Dignity Campaign by collecting and packing bags for those in need.

We’re seeking donations of gently used bags in good condition, as well as a variety of essential products. Every contribution makes a difference!

Donations can be dropped off at the Front Office or the Home Economics Office.
