Captured by one of our trainers, Brett, during a dust storm on site in Mildura while running our Cert III Mines Rescue program.
An unreal moment to capture - big thanks to Brett for sending this one through.

Take a look at a few snapshots from another core fire block of training held at our Port Kembla training facility last week.
We had a great group of motivated learners who brought plenty of their own experience and knowledge to the week, making for a strong learning environment for everyone involved. 💪🔥
This block of training forms part of the PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).

Happy International Women’s Day from Risk Response + Rescue.
Today we recognise and celebrate the incredible women who are part of the RR+R, and wider emergency response community.
From our trainers delivering practical, real-world training, to personnel working on sites across Australia, the learners building their skills, and the support centre team keeping everything moving - women are an essential part of what makes RR+R such a great team of people to be part of.
RR+R wouldn’t be what it is without you, thank you.

Effective training needs real pressure. Because in a life-threatening bleed, there’s no pause button.
We’ve recently added new Emergency Tourniquet & Haemorrhage Clotting Trainers to our medical kit, allowing us to simulate realistic bleeding scenarios to teach life-saving techniques in a safe, controlled environment for high-impact training.
Seeing blood flow, applying a tourniquet correctly, and assessing effectiveness under pressure builds real confidence and real capability.
Thanks to the team at TraumaSim for producing quality simulation gear that helps raise the standard 👊

There’s something special about stepping out of the day‑to‑day and getting back in a room together.
Our RR+R Professional Development Day gave us the chance to reconnect face‑to‑face, learn from each other, and share knowledge across disciplines, from gas detection with Nick, to advanced medical training with Hari, and hands‑on time with equipment alongside Skylotec and Petzl.
Busy schedules, different locations, but when we come together like this, it strengthens how we work and reminds you why this team is something special.
Shared knowledge. Stronger capability. Better outcomes, together.

Real training isn't scripted.
It's problem-solving, communication, and doing the work under pressure.
What's a training scenario that has challenged you the most?

We had a great couple of days last week onsite with the team at Total Construction in Wollongong.
Training inside a real confined space = real hazards and real learning!
We take pride in delivering training in authentic environments, so our learners leave with real confidence - not just a certificate.

Big thanks to the team at for having us this week!
Our trainer Wyn delivered a bushfire awareness session with their crew, and it was a pleasure to be part of the conversation.
With summer fast approaching, it’s more important than ever that we keep these discussions alive.
