So, we did a thing! We took our WHOLE school to Healesville Sanctuary, and it was the most wonderful day! 🐨🦘

Students and teachers explored the sanctuary together, visiting the homes of some of Australia’s most treasured animals and discovering the incredible wildlife that makes our country so special.

There were curious questions, excited faces and plenty of moments that reminded us why learning beyond the classroom matters.

One school. One big adventure. Memories to last a lifetime! 💚

🔬🧪 Science is bubbling, fizzing and sparking curiosity at Umarkoo!

This National Science Week, our young scientists have been asking big questions, making predictions, testing ideas and discovering what happens when curiosity meets experimentation.

At Umarkoo, science is not confined to a classroom or laboratory. It is happening wherever our students are!

There have been surprises, discoveries and plenty of “WOW!” moments along the way. Take a look at some of the fantastic experiments our students have been exploring! ✨👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

Today, the Umarkoo team explored some principles of Reggio Emilia, re-imagining an environment where there is a belief in every child as beyond capable. Our learning invited us to imagine the wonder, curiosity and creativity when we truly listen.

We have an update! 👀

Our incredibly talented staff member, Ronnie, has been hard at work bringing another big vision to life.

What you’re seeing is a chicken coop, built mostly from repurposed materials, ready to become home to our very first UPS feathered friends. But that’s not all… Ronnie has also been creating a beautiful yarning circle that will become a special space for learning, connection and community.

At Umarkoo, we love seeing creativity, sustainability and teamwork come together. Give Ronnie an idea, and somehow he finds a way to make it happen!

Junior Neighbourhood finished the week on a high by installing their handmade birdhouses! 🐦🏡

Did we mention they designed and built every single one themselves?

There were plenty of keen birdwatchers keeping a close eye on our school grounds, eagerly waiting for some of Wollert’s feathered locals to discover their brand-new homes.

A wonderful outcome for both our local birdlife and our students, who have combined creativity, design thinking and teamwork to make a positive impact on our environment. We can’t wait to see our newest residents move in! 💛

💯 100 Days Brighter! 💛

A celebration fit for our tiniest members of Umarkoo! 🎉

Today we celebrated an incredible milestone as our Foundation students reached 100 days of school.

Over the past 100 days, they have learned, laughed, created, questioned, persevered and grown in so many ways. They’ve built friendships, developed confidence, embraced new challenges, and become an important part of our Umarkoo community.

We’re so proud of everything they have achieved already and can’t wait to see what the next 100 days have in store. 🌟
