🚗💨 A Massive Day Out for Western Tech’s Future Revheads! 🛠️✨
The Certificate II Automotive crew from Western Technical College hit the ground running at TAFE SA Regency Campus recently! The day kicked off the best way possible: hot drinks and a mountain of warm, toasted ham and cheese croissants. 🥐☕
With fuel in their bellies, the students began the full tour of the massive facility. They walked through a maze of workshops, moving from rows of modern sedans on hoists to the high bay heavy diesel section where trucks and training aids were there for them experience.
The day shifted into high gear with two major highlights:
🥽 The Welding Simulators: The students donned VR helmets for some high-tech, fiercely competitive simulation action. They took turns laying down virtual welds, tracking accuracy, speed, and torch angles. A massive shoutout to the student who topped the class with an unbeaten 97%! 🎯
🔊 The Dyno Power Runs: There’s nothing quite like the roar of a V8! The group crowded into the dyno room to watch a high-performance wagon get strapped down. When the operator pinned the throttle, the room shook, smiles lit up, and the students got a front-row seat to the true power of automotive engineering and real-world dyno tuning.
🗺️ Mapping the Future
To wrap up an incredible day, the group sat down with our light and heavy vehicle lecturers to talk career paths. The lecturers kept it real, mapping out the massive opportunities waiting for them—from high-performance tuning and the booming EV sector to high-paying roles in mining and heavy transport.
