We were thrilled to welcome the SA Mounted Police and their incredible horses, Maggie and Xennon, for a very special visit last week.
The officers spent time teaching the children about their important role in the community, how they help people, and the ways they keep everyone safe. The children showed great curiosity and confidence as learners, asking thoughtful questions and engaging enthusiastically in conversations with the officers.
Meeting Maggie and Xennon up close was the highlight of the morning. The children were eager to pat them, feel their soft coats, and experience their calm and gentle nature. Xennon also enjoyed exploring the surroundings and caused plenty of giggles when he took a keen interest in what looked like a rather unusual horse. The mysterious four-legged friend turned out to be a white cow statue, but that didn’t seem to make Xennon any less curious!
This visit supported our learning about safe people in our community and connected beautifully with the "Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum". It provided valuable opportunities for children to build relationships, deepen their understanding of the world around them, and engage in meaningful community learning.
A huge thank you to the SA Mounted Police officers for their visit and for creating such a memorable and joyful experience for our children. 🐴💙
