💙 A big MOPS team effort! 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Working Bee on Saturday, organised by our wonderful Governing Council! 👏

Staff, parents and students all pitched in to give our school a tidy-up. 🧹✨
🟡 Our yellow safety lines around stairs and steps were given a fresh coat of paint
🧽 Upper primary toilet floors were sanitised
🕸️ Cobwebs and built-up dust were cleared away

The before and after photos really show what can be achieved when our MOPS community works together! 🙌💙

Thank you to everyone who gave up part of their weekend to help make our school a better place for our students. We really appreciate you! ⭐

🌻 SSO WEEK 2026 🌻

This week we celebrated the incredible School Support Officers who help our students learn, grow and bloom every day! 💛

We wanted to make sure our wonderful SSOs felt appreciated, so there was a new little surprise waiting for them in the staffroom each morning:

🌱 Monday – The Wellbeing Fairy
Our Wellbeing Fairy kicked off the week by delivering each SSO one of their favourite snacks, along with a special note of appreciation.

🌿 Tuesday – Secret Teacher Gardeners
Our staff became Secret Gardeners, leaving a special gift for an SSO to enjoy. The challenge? Work out who your Secret Gardener was! 🕵️‍♀️🌻

🌼 Wednesday – Morning Tea
We stopped, took a moment to celebrate and enjoyed a shared morning tea together. There was plenty of delicious food, laughter and time to appreciate our wonderful team.

🫘 Thursday – Guess How Many!
The SSOs had to put their guessing skills to the test with a jar full of jelly beans. Congratulations to Emily, who came closest and took home the jar! 🎉

🌻 Friday – Our Garden Has Bloomed
The week finished with our favourite surprise of all. Each class created a beautiful flower pot gift for their allocated SSO 🌷💛

A huge THANK YOU to all of our SSOs for the care, patience, creativity, encouragement and support you provide to our students every single day.

Our school truly blooms because of you! 🌻🌱💛

📚 We take literacy seriously.

Every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident reader and writer and at MOPS, we make literacy a priority. 📖✨

Our teachers use evidence-informed approaches, with explicit classroom teaching supported by targeted intervention when students need a little extra help.

From InitiaLit and MiniLit to Spell Ex and MacqLit, we use assessment and data to understand where students are at and identify how we can best support their next steps. 🔍📈

And the results matter! We’re proud of the growth our students are making and the work our teachers and SSOs put in every day to help our learners succeed. 💙

📖 Because every child deserves to learn to read.

💙 WHAT MAKES MOPS SPECIAL? 💙

⏰ A school day designed with learning in mind.

At MOPS, we’ve deliberately structured our day to support the way children learn, focus and recharge. 🧠📚

Our day includes:

📖 5 clearly structured learning sessions
💙 Dedicated literacy, numeracy and wellbeing learning
🏃 Two whole-school movement breaks
🍎 Dedicated break and lunch times to play, socialise and reset
🔄 Clear routines and transitions throughout the day

We know that learning isn't just about sitting in a classroom. Children need opportunities to move, play, connect and recharge so they can return to their learning ready to focus. 🌱

Our timetable is intentionally designed to support cognitive load, engagement and wellbeing throughout the school day.

✨ It's another example of how we put thought and purpose into the way we support our students at MOPS.

🌱 Wellbeing is at the heart of what we do as one of our three pillars.

We know that children learn best when they feel safe, connected and ready to learn. 🧠💙

At MOPS, wellbeing is more than responding when a child is having a tough day. We explicitly teach our students about emotions, regulation, relationships and the skills they need to navigate school and life. 🌈

Through our Berry Street and trauma-informed practices, dedicated wellbeing lessons, Zones of Regulation and our Wellbeing Team, we’re building a school where students are supported to understand themselves and others. 🤝

Because wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. 📚💙

Today we celebrate our amazing OSHC team and thank them for the care, dedication and enthusiasm they bring to our students each and every day.
Whether it's after school or during vacation care, they create a welcoming environment where children feel safe and supported.
