National Reconciliation Week took place from May 27th to June 3rd. We participated in the ‘Sea of Hearts Movement’ challenge organised by Conecting the Dots through Culture highlighting the theme of being brave and making change.
We encouraged the children, parents and staff to decorate a heart (some of the paper was handmade by the children) with their thoughts on reconciliation, forming a ‘Sea of Hearts’ display at our service to promote the importance of reconciliation in Australia. Hats of to our wonderful educators Tina and Sarah who organised all of this.
Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians. We have to create a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the Australian community and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
