Southern Transition Real-World and Independent Vocational Education STRIVE (Southern Transition Real-World and Independendent Vocational Education) is for students with disabilities ages 18 to 22 years old.

Students will spend a portion of their day developing independent living, social, and employment skills. Vision Statement
All STRIVE students will reach their full potential to obtain meaningful jobs, live as independently as possible, maintain friendships and participate as active citizens in their community. Mission Statement
The mission of the STRIVE Program, in partnership with the families, s

tudents, agencies and community resources, is to provide comprehensive transition services that will prepare students to reach their full potential and transition to post-secondary education, employment, independence and an active community life. What STRIVE Does
-Facilitate communication and connections among any and all resources that can support students to reach their goals;
-Provide students with enrichment opportunities, experiences and community connections to foster independence;
-Provide students with academic, vocational and social skills instruction;
-Meet the students' unique needs;
-Teach students self-advocacy skills, and
-Help students become confident, independent, and interconnected in their community. Our Program Components
-Students will be educated in a community-based setting.
-Instruction will include independent living skills, social skills, and employment skills.
-Each student will participate in a community-based work experience.
-Recreational activities and socialization experiences for the students will be included.
-When applicable, students will use public transportation to get to and from work from the STRIVE program location.
