Year 2 wrapped up their Integrated Topic unit 'Then & Now' this week with their presentation of the Anson Museum yesterday. It was a showcase of items, toys, technology, cameras, accessories and household time saving devices from days gone by, but what exactly a person, particularly when one is in Year 2, classifies as antique is always up to interpretation. It seems CDs are a thing of the past these days, and definitely a floppy disc! Parents, carers, grandparents and Primary classes visited the Anson Museum and were wowed by the array of artefacts Year 2 had brought in for display.

Another standout initiatives from Service Week was the Soup’er Day fundraiser. Students worked tirelessly to prepare and serve large batches of soup across multiple locations, including Albury CBD, St John’s Lutheran Church, and Junction Place in Wodonga. The funds raised supported the Sunshine Trust, giving students the chance to contribute to something beyond themselves. Planning, preparing, serving and engaging with the public provided a valuable learning experience in organisation, generosity and connection.

On Friday, our Music and Drama elective students were delighted to attend the Albury Entertainment Centre to see BYTESized's 2026 production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
One of the highlights of the performance was seeing several Victory students shine on stage. Sophie B. captivated the audience in the lead role of Truly Scrumptious, delivering a wonderful performance supported by her outstanding vocals. Daniel O. brought warmth, humour and charm to the role of Grandpa, showcasing his impressive acting skills. Years 7, 8 and 10 students Ellie W., Hayley B. and Zoe M. were also fantastic in their ensemble roles, contributing energetic choreography, polished vocals and plenty of characterisation throughout the production.
We always look forward to supporting the annual BYTESized production and are incredibly proud to see our own students involved in such a high-quality community performance. We hope our elective students returned feeling inspired, motivated and perhaps already dreaming of their own next moment in the spotlight!

It happened so fast so we thought we would share more photo highlights from Service Week! One of the many activities was held at the Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre in Burrumbuttock. A group of students helped the volunteers with a range of jobs, from laying mulch to landscaping.

Excitement built throughout the day for the final event to Service Week, the Ice Cold Courage for Cancer. The Hangar was buzzing as students cheered on a brave (and slightly apprehensive!) line-up of volunteers ready to take the icy plunge.
Our thanks to special guest Di Thomas, Director of the Sunshine Trust, for speaking with our community and receiving the heartfelt letters written by Year 9, along with Jess, who joined the daring group of swimmers – if we can call them that! Just some of the colourful dress ups taking the plunge were The Incredibles (aka our Year 12 College Vice Captains), Elsa from Frozen (aka Miss Tinney), spirited student footy fans giving a final cheer to the “Mighty Magpies”, a courageous brother-and-sister duo, not to mention many staff members simply embracing the moment, and then finishing in style, Mr Joel Klemke and Mr Brad Moss.
We also thank the Albury Wodonga Bandits for spending time with students and adding to the chorus of cheers. (We did notice that Mr Klemke stood on the stage box during the interview). An unforgettable and fun-filled afternoon… watching everyone freeze!
Make sure to keep a look out for WinNews tonight (or if not soon!)

The Year 9 Like a Bo$$ class delivered a standout result at their Winter Markets today. The results of their month-long campaign spoke for themselves. Luther Hall was packed at lunchtime, with students spoilt for choice - from a bustling sausage sizzle out front to a vibrant range of offerings inside, including zooper doopers, sweet treats, trading cards and slushies. Even staff were drawn in, making a beeline for the ever-popular scones stall.
The attendance and atmosphere in Luther Hall was possibly the best real-time feedback they could have received for their business acumen! They’ll be proud to know their enterprise efforts now translated into impressive fundraising for the Sunshine Trust.
