🌟 Word of the Fortnight 🌟
This fortnight's word is 'not'!
We're using our core word boards, key word signs and AAC devices to practice this word all fortnight long at school and home.
💬Look for opportunities to model the word during daily routines like mealtimes, play and transitions.
🤟Use the key sign to support understanding and communication.
📱 Encourage the use of the AAC system.
Let's build functional communication skills together!

❤️💛🖤 Mabo Day ❤️💛🖤
Today, we recognise Mabo Day - an important moment to reflect on truth, justice, and the enduring connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country.
On this day in 1992, the High Court of Australia handed down the landmark Mabo decision, rejecting the concept of terra nullius and formally recognising the traditional land rights of First Nations peoples
We honour the life and legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo, whose courage, determination and advocacy helped create lasting change for generations to come. His impact continues to inspire the ongoing journey toward recognition, reconciliation and justice. 🌏🌿

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤
This week, we come together to reflect on our shared history, celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and commit to building a more inclusive and respectful future as we recognise National Reconciliation Week (May 27 – June 3).
This year’s theme, “All In,” reminds us that reconciliation is something we all play a part in through respect, understanding, truth-telling and meaningful connection.
Today also marks the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum — a significant moment in Australia’s history when Australians voted overwhelmingly to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the census and allow the federal government to create laws for them. It was an important step toward recognition, justice and equality, led by the strength and resilience of First Nations communities. ✍📜

🖤💛❤️ National Sorry Day 💛❤️🖤
Today, on National Sorry Day, we pause to acknowledge the strength, resilience, and courage of the Stolen Generations, their families, and communities.
This day is an opportunity for reflection, learning, and reaffirming our commitment to reconciliation. We recognise the ongoing impact of past injustices and honour the stories, cultures, and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As a community, we stand together in respect, understanding, and support for healing. Let us continue to listen, learn, and walk forward together toward a future built on truth, connection, and reconciliation.
