Learning about winter through snowflake and snowman craft activities supports children's creativity, fine motor development, and understanding of seasonal changes. Children develop their language, cognitive, and numeracy skills while exploring shapes, patterns, counting, and winter-related vocabulary. These experiences also encourage social interaction, concentration, and self-expression through art and craft.

Indoor Fun!
Playing with balloons through chasing, catching, drawing, and the “don’t let the balloon touch the floor” challenge provided children with a fun and engaging indoor learning experience when the weather was not suitable for outdoor play.
Through this experience, children developed gross motor skills as they ran, jumped, stretched, and balanced while keeping the balloon in the air. Their hand-eye coordination, concentration, and reflexes were strengthened as they tracked and caught the moving balloon. Drawing on the balloons supported fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression.
This activity also encouraged social interaction, teamwork, turn-taking, and communication as children played together and shared ideas. Children built emotional skills such as confidence, excitement, resilience, and patience while participating in the challenge. The experience further supported cognitive development through problem-solving, predicting movement, and learning how to control their body movements in a playful and enjoyable way.

RECONCILIATION WEEK ACTIVITIES!
Celebrating Reconciliation Week helps children learn about and respect the cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It promotes values of inclusion, respect and belonging.
Through boomerang and Aboriginal flag craft, children developed fine motor through colouring, painting and decorating, cognitive skills through learning cultural symbols and colours, and creativity in designing their work. They also built verbal skills through discussions, emotional skills through empathy and respect and social skills through sharing and working together.
