Muslim Kids in Werribee

Salam All.
Ramadan Mubarak.
I was wondering if it is possible to do something for the kids (and their parents) during Ramadan 2023.
I have lived in Wagga Wagga for 10+ years and used to organise Sunday School for Muslim Kids. We also organised several programs for kids and communities during Ramadan and outside Ramadan, too. Last year we moved to Werribee, and I found a great number of Muslim families living around. This is just my thinking. If anyone can suggest, such as in the coming school holidays, we can organise some meet-ups, may pray together, share our views or do something that will add value.

Kids of growing age interact with people of various cultures and religions, and it can be quite difficult to keep them close to your culture and religion. However, by using suitable methods and learning how to teach kids about Islam by involving your kids in religious activities, you can enable them to be close to Allah and learn about the religion.

Here are some tips for you about how to teach kids about Islam without seeming like a chore.
Teach them Islam is not a religion only, but a way of Life
Build a Connection with Allah
Tell about Young Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet)
Make It Fun
Do What You Preach
Teach Them Dua
Buy Children’s Islamic Books
Send Them to Masjids

Remember, there will be a time when we all will look back to see what we have done in all our lives and if we can see nothing, no one is to blame other than ourselves.

So please utilise our best assets- our children- and prepare them so we can receive sadaqah Jariya through them after we leave this world.

If we do not equip our children with Islamic knowledge, they will be sucked into this world and forget who their Creator is.

Remember that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said that after a person passes away, nothing will avail him except 3 things:
- Sadaqah Jaariyyah.
- Beneficial knowledge.
- Pious children who will make dua for him after his death.

If we give our children the correct and proper Islamic knowledge, Insha Allah, these very children will be the ones who will assist us even whilst we are in our graves.
