🌿🦘🐪🐨 Little explorers at Sunrise Paradise ELC had an unforgettable adventure day at Gorge Wildlife Park!

The children were able to get up close with koalas, kangaroos, a camel and so many more. 🐾💛

As they observe the animals up close, they are developing a deeper understanding of nature, habitats, and the importance of caring for the animals God created. 🌏✨

Their smiles say it all! What a blessing to learn, explore and grow together!

✨ Last week, at Sunrise Fullarton ELC, our Kindy and Pre-Kindy children had an exciting (and delicious!) experience making their very own Gingerbread cookies!

With rolling pins in hand, the children carefully rolled out their dough, sprinkled flour, and used a range of festive Christmas cutters to create beautifully shaped Gingerbread masterpieces.
This activity was a wonderful way to build fine-motor strength, explore early cooking skills, and engage in a rich sensory experience. The joy and concentration on their faces said it all!

To add to the excitement, the children later got a chance to taste the cookies they had made with assistance from their teachers. What a delightful way to learn! 🍪✨

We love seeing our young learners explore, create, and grow every day at Sunrise. 🌞💛

🌟 Join Weekly Playgroups at Sunrise Early Learning Centres! 🌟

Seeking a welcoming and nurturing space to connect with your child and other families? Sunrise Playgroups at Marion, Paradise, Fullarton, and Morphett Vale are open to all families with children from birth to 5 years old, and we would love to welcome you.

Each week during school terms, we explore fun, themed activities that help children develop important skills, such as fine motor coordination and early literacy, often through music, play, and creativity. 🎶🧩🎨
But most importantly, playgroups focus on what matters most: the bond between you and your child.

At Sunrise, we believe parents are a child’s first and most important educator. That’s why these sessions are designed to empower families, strengthen relationships, and offer simple ideas that you can easily replicate at home.

Our little learners at Sunrise ELC Paradise have been busy in the garden digging, watering, weeding, planting and most recently, harvesting the fruits and vegetables of their hard work! 🥕🍅🥦

Each week, the children participate in our gardening program, where they engage in hands-on learning about how plants grow and where our food comes from. These experiences aren’t just fun; they build essential foundation science skills, encourage fine and gross motor development, and nurture a deep respect for nature.

But the learning doesn’t stop in the garden! Once the produce is harvested, our budding chefs bring it into the kitchen to cook and taste the food they’ve grown themselves. This helps foster an early understanding of nutrition, healthy eating and the joy of caring for our environment. 🌻

At Sunrise Early Learning Centres, we believe that when children connect with the earth, they grow curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning. 🌿

🍣 🍱 This week at Sunrise Fullarton ELC, children had a fun and tasty hands-on experience making their very own sushi alongside their teachers and friends! 😄

With fresh ingredients like carrots, avocado, cucumber sticks, and sticky rice, each child could choose their own fillings and roll up their sushi creations. It was such a fun and engaging activity, and the best part was tasting their delicious, healthy masterpieces!

This experience supported so many areas of early learning and development. By making sushi themselves, children strengthened their fine motor skills, creativity, and independence. They also practised problem-solving, sharing, and taking turns while working together.

At Sunrise ELC, we believe that hands-on, play-based learning experiences like this help children build confidence, explore new tastes and textures, and develop a lifelong love for healthy eating. 🌱

🦋 Butterfly Adventure at Sunrise Marion ELC! 🦋

Our Pre-Kindy children have loved learning about the butterfly life cycle 🐛 ➡️ 🦋 through play, discovery, and two favourite stories: The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Claudia the Caterpillar.

They witnessed caterpillars transform into butterflies in their chrysalises firsthand during morning devotion, making it extra special 💛. The final step was releasing them into the garden, a moment filled with joy, wonder, and a few happy tears as we sang Jesus Loves Me and waved goodbye.

This beautiful journey taught the children about care, respect, and the natural cycle of life 🌿✨
