WHAT IF THE SKILLS YOU LEARN TODAY COULD HELP SAVE A LIFE TOMORROW? ❤️‍🩹

We loved again being onsite with Communify at their Acacia Ridge Community Centre, delivering practical first aid training as part of their Training for Work programs.

For us, first aid training is about so much more than completing a course.

It's about having a go, asking questions, practising real-life skills and building the confidence to respond when someone needs help.

Communify works with people from all walks of life, providing tailored training and support to help participants build skills and pathways towards employment.

We're proud to partner with organisations like Communify that understand the value of learning through participation and building confidence along the way.

Because first aid skills don't just belong in the workplace.

They can be used at home.
They can be used in the community.

They can be used when a friend, family member, workmate or stranger needs help.

❤️ Learn the skill. Build the confidence. Be ready to help.

A big thank you to the Communify team and participants for making the session so engaging!

📍 And if you're in the Logan community and want to learn or refresh your first aid and CPR skills, keep an eye out for our upcoming public courses, visit our website at https://www.firstaidandfire.com/firstaid to book in.

Your next first aid course could be the most useful course you ever do.

You gave blood… but do you know what happens next?

Once your blood donation reaches a processing centre, it is carefully tested to make sure it is safe for patients.

Then something amazing happens…

🩸 Your blood is separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets.
🏥 These components can then be sent to hospitals where they are needed — helping people undergoing cancer treatment, surgery, treatment for blood disorders, after serious injuries and in many other situations.

And that means the 10 minutes you spend donating can make a very real difference to someone you may never meet.

In Australia, 1 in 3 people will need blood or blood products in their lifetime — yet only around 1 in 30 people donate.

So if you’re eligible, healthy and able to donate, why not consider making an appointment?

And if you already donate — thank you! 🙏

Your generosity helps keep our hospitals ready for the people who need blood every single day.

💡 Not sure if you’re eligible? Don’t rule yourself out. Lifeblood has information to help you check your eligibility and their friendly team can answer your questions.

👉 Find out more and book your donation through Australian Red Cross Lifeblood https://www.lifeblood.com.au

One appointment. One donation. A potentially life-changing gift. ❤️

We're still pinching ourselves! 💙

First Aid & Fire is incredibly proud to be a finalist in the 2026 Logan Chamber of Commerce Business Distinction Awards!

As a family-owned Logan City business, we've always believed that everyone deserves the skills and confidence to help when it matters most. From first aid and fire safety to mental health first aid and resilience training, we're passionate about equipping our community with practical skills that can make a real difference.

We don't usually shine the spotlight on ourselves, so this recognition is especially meaningful. It reminds us how fortunate we are to do what we love while serving the community we're proud to call home.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, and to the Logan Chamber of Commerce and the judges for this wonderful honour.

Congratulations to every finalist and to all the incredible local businesses making a difference in Logan. Best of luck to everyone for the Gala Awards in September—we can't wait to celebrate with you! 🎉💙

Today was another fantastic day of empowering everyday heroes at Kingston East Neighbourhood Group (KENG) in Slacks Creek. ❤️⛑️

It was wonderful to welcome participants to this friendly community hub as they developed practical first aid skills that could one day help save a life.

At First Aid & Fire, we believe the best way to learn is by doing. Through hands-on participation using realistic training equipment designed to simulate real-life emergency situations, participants were able to build confidence, strengthen their skills and improve knowledge retention in a supportive learning environment.

Our passionate trainers love seeing confidence grow throughout each session, ensuring every participant feels encouraged, supported and prepared to respond when it matters most.

A huge thank you to KENG for partnering with us to make life-saving education accessible within the local community. Together, we're helping create safer homes, workplaces and communities—one course at a time.

💙 Because everyone has the potential to be someone's hero.

💙 One small purchase could help save a life.

Today we're proud to share this important message from TradeMutt.

Did you know that one Australian tradie dies by su***de every two days? It's a heartbreaking statistic, but together we can help change it by starting conversations and supporting services that make a real difference.

🏡 If you're heading to Bunnings today, keep an eye out for the limited edition TradeMutt hoodie for just $59.

The best part? Every single dollar from every hoodie sold goes directly to TIACS (This Is A Conversation Starter), providing free, professional mental health support to tradies, truckies, farmers, blue-collar workers and their families.

Sometimes, asking "Are you okay?" or simply being there to listen can make all the difference. By wearing a TradeMutt hoodie, you're helping to start those important conversations while supporting a service that changes lives every day.

At First Aid & Fire, we believe first aid isn't just about responding to physical emergencies—it's also about looking after each other and supporting mental wellbeing.

If you can, grab a hoodie, wear it with pride, and help spread the message that it's okay not to be okay, and it's okay to ask for help. 💙

Together, we can help make sure no one has to face life's challenges alone.

🌟 Big news for Australians living with severe allergies and anaphylaxis!

A new needle-free adrenaline nasal spray, neffy®, has been added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), making this innovative treatment more affordable and accessible for eligible Australians.

For many people living with anaphylaxis—or parents caring for children with severe allergies—this is a significant step forward.

Why is neffy® generating so much interest?

✅ Needle-free administration
✅ A great alternative for those with a fear of needles
✅ Compact and easy to carry
✅ Longer shelf life than many traditional adrenaline auto-injectors
✅ Fast, simple administration in an emergency

This is welcome news for individuals and families managing severe allergies, and another example of how innovation is improving emergency care.

To learn more about neffy®, eligibility and what this means for Australians, check out the information shared by Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia in the link below.

At First Aid & Fire, we believe that having access to life-saving treatments is only part of the equation. Knowing how to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis, respond quickly, follow an individual's ASCIA Action Plan, administer adrenaline correctly, and call 000 are critical skills that can save a life.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, teacher, childcare educator, workplace first aider or simply want to be prepared, first aid training gives you the confidence to act when every second counts.

Have you heard about neffy®? We'd love to hear your thoughts on this exciting new option for anaphylaxis management.

neffy®, the first needle-free adrenaline nasal spray, is now on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) in Australia. This means that neffy® is available through both private and PBS prescription but not yet available over the counter.

Now that there are more adrenaline device options in Australia, it's important to speak with your doctor about which device is best suited to you and your needs.

💚 Sometimes the most important thing you can do is simply listen.

When someone opens up about their mental health, it's natural to worry about saying the "wrong" thing. The truth is, you don't need to have all the answers—being present, listening without judgement and creating a safe space can make a real difference.

Mental Health First Aid Australia's article, "Six Tips to Keep Someone Comfortable in a Mental Health Conversation," shares practical ways to help someone feel heard and supported, including giving them time, listening to understand, following their lead and offering ongoing support. It's a valuable read for anyone wanting to better support family, friends, colleagues or members of their community.

If you'd like to build your confidence even further, join First Aid & Fire for our upcoming Mental Health First Aid course in Tingalpa. You'll learn practical, evidence-based skills to recognise the signs of common mental health problems, respond to someone experiencing a mental health crisis, and guide them towards appropriate support.
