Growing greener spaces at St Thomas Primary School, Terang!
What a fantastic partnership with the amazing students and staff at St Thomas Primary School!
Students worked alongside Anthea and Chon to prepare the garden and plant a beautiful range of native species, creating a new space for learning, connection and local biodiversity.
And, of course, we had to test the steppers! Students and the Principal enthusiastically put them through their paces to make sure they supported maximum engagement, movement and fun.
A wonderful example of Learning Through Action — turning ideas into spaces that support people, plants and place.

Humans & Habitat | Terang Secondary College

Connecting young people, science and habitat restoration.

Anthea joined Tim Tutt from Tutt Environmental Solutions at Terang Secondary College to deliver a series of floating wetland module workshops. With support from Clontarf students and staff, they constructed and planted the modules, creating new habitat within the school’s wetland environment.

Floating wetlands provide valuable habitat for aquatic species, support biodiversity and contribute to healthier waterways. Importantly, they provide a practical context for young people to engage with environmental science and participate in meaningful ecological restoration.

Through hands-on learning and collaboration, students are not simply learning about sustainability. They are actively contributing to it.

Thank you to Kieran Keane and Beach Energy for supporting this valuable initiative, and to the staff and students at Terang Secondary College for their enthusiasm, collaboration and commitment to creating a healthier, more biodiverse learning environment.

Growing Greener Spaces at St Thomas Primary School, Terang.

A warm welcome from the students and staff at St Thomas Primary School this week!
Anthea and Chon delivered nature workshops, exploring students’ ideas for their school green space and the important role native gardens play in creating habitat for local wildlife.
Grade 6 students rolled up their sleeves to help prepare the site, turning their ideas into the beginnings of a vibrant new green space for their school community.
It was wonderful to see students sharing ideas, getting hands-on, and helping shape a healthier, greener future for their school.

What a Transformation!

The gardens and revegetation are now complete, and what an incredible way to finish! Our final day of planting and mulching was a mammoth effort, with Hawkesdale College students, staff and the GreenPrint Projects team working together to bring this vision to life.

Over 450 trees and shrubs planted
29 new species introduced to the site
New habitat created for local wildlife

The transformation is remarkable and is a wonderful example of how environmental education can elevate health, wellbeing, connection and learning.

This project is more than planting a garden. It is about young people getting their hands in the soil, working together, caring for Country and creating a healthier, more biodiverse place for everyone to enjoy.

The garden is planted. The habitat is growing. The legacy has begun.

Bringing the Hawkesdale Eco Track to Life

GreenPrint Projects is proud to partner with GPG Naturgy Group and Moyne Shire to bring the Hawkesdale Eco Track to life.

Their financial investment is enabling GreenPrint Projects to deliver authentic environmental action in schools, creating opportunities for students to learn through hands-on experiences while actively improving their school environment.

The Hawkesdale Eco Track is more than a garden project. It is a Living Classroom where students can explore biodiversity, sustainability, First Nations knowledge, habitat creation and the importance of caring for Country.

Through partnerships like this, we can support schools to create meaningful, long-term environmental outcomes while empowering young people to become active custodians of their local environment.
