The Waikerie Rowing Club has completed their second annual ergo challenge, where competitors aimed to row as far as they could for 1 hour. This was a fundraising event to raise money for the boat-shed.

🚣‍♂️ Ergo Challenge Fundraiser – August 2 🚣‍♀️

The Waikerie Rowing Club is hopping on the ergos (rowing machines) for a big challenge – and we need you!

Six of our rowers will each be smashing out a nominated distance in one hour at the Waikerie RSL, all to raise funds for a brand new double skull boat (they’re not cheap – around $14,000 😮‍💨).

• Kyle Tsai – 10km
• Katrina Webber – 10km

There’ll be a BBQ lunch, bar, Spinning Wheel prizes, and lots of laughs. Come down, support the team, and find out more about this great sport! Starting at 11:00am.

The 5RM / Magic 931 WAIKERIE OMNIUM returned to the Waikerie Riverfront on Saturday. 14 crews and 26 events saw rowing over 3 different distances to battle it out to win a share of $4000.
Unley High School was the fastest club, winning the The RSL Waikerie Sub Branch Flight Lieutenant Douglas Howie Memorial Cup and were awarded medals donated by Riverland Christian College.

2024 5RM/Magic 93.1 Waikerie Omnium

The Waikerie Omnium will return with double the prize money! A massive $4000 will be up for grabs for participating crews thanks to the Waikerie Loxton Council and official naming sponsors: 5RM/Magic 93.1.
This years Omnium will feature 3 different distances – a 2000m Time Trial, 1000m small field race, and 500m sprint. Category winners are determined by average prognostic across the three distances.
This year prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each category (Club, Masters, School) and to the overall winners.
1st Place = $600
2nd Place = $300
3rd Place = $100
In addition to this the overall winners will also receive the Flight Lieutenant Douglas Howie Memorial Cup (donated by the Waikerie RSL) and winners medals (donated by Rivergum Christian College).
