This week was full of some really thought out guided groups and art/craft activities. Yumiko lead a Wagga map trivia guided group which was inspired by Belinda’s well-being sessions during last vacation care, Bron had a lot of children interested in her foil string art activity, and Kylie started Fathers Day prep with some Father’s Day key chains. The children also enjoyed the barbie’s, twister, mixing resources together and so much more.

It was a funny old week this week! The weather was all over the place, first it was wet then it was sunny but one thing was certain, it was all fun and games here at HOOSHC! We had a very popular game of continuous dodgeball, made candy bag squishies, played a lot of pop up tag, created some amazing mixed resource play spaces and so much more!

This week was a fun week at HOOSHC! During Before School Care, the children have been enjoying pop up tag, barbie’s, dress ups, chess, cars, and the shop! While our After School Care children have been experimenting and mixing different resources to create new and exciting play experiences. There has also been some fabulous guided groups, such as biscuit making (which we then enjoyed for afternoon tea the following day), sewing kits, Japanese candy kits, and volleyball, and some beautiful craft to top it all off!

This week was filled with celebrations at HOOSHC! We celebrated OOSH Educators day on Wednesday and kindergarten celebrated 100 days of learning today! It was really lovely to see the children write down reasons why they are grateful for the HOOSHC Educators and go out of their way to thank them throughout the week, and seeing the kindergarten children dressed up as old people today was just too cute for words! We also enjoyed a Hawaiian Photo Booth and lots of play time outside in the glorious winter sun.

Today, on OOSH Educators Day, we celebrate and thank the incredible educators who make our service such a special place. 💙

Week one of term three done and dusted and it was so lovely to see some faces we didn’t see over the holidays. The weather was absolutely beautiful, which meant we had lots of active play outside! The children also enjoyed some fun art and crafts and free play with the resources!

Day eleven was the perfect day to have a free play and donut day! The children enjoyed all their favourite free play activities such as the Nudel Kart, super space, slime, Perla beads, Lego, loom bands, colouring, and LOTS of active play in the beautiful sun. To wrap it all up we enjoyed a delicious donut and cup of milk for afternoon tea. We have had the best time during our July Vacation Care program and wish everyone a happy and smooth start to term 3 tomorrow!

Day ten was our celebration of NAIDOC week and 50 years of Deadly! We were so grateful to have Aunty Colleen come spend the morning session with us, making NAIDOC day wrist bands, playing different indigenous games, drawing symbols in the sand, weaving and telling stories. We spent the afternoon session doing some indigenous craft and reading more stories together. It was a really beautiful way to come together and wrap up our week!

Day nine was an arts and crafts day for all our creative children. There were so many activities on offer! From shrinky d***s, air dry clay, origami, watercolour painting, stickle puffs, scratch art and so much more!!! The quality of what the children created was so high and it is always so lovely to see the children proudly show their parents all their creations.
