An amazing network of educators delivering expertise in outdoor education - a network Riverina EEC is proud to be part of!
Cascade EEC hosted the Rural and Remote Conference this week, lovingly know as WESTIES! A collaboration of like minded educators who are revolutionizing environmental education as we know it.
Thank you for leaning in to the Cascade vibe, having the flexibilty to pivot when needed and for sharing your knowledge and amazing expertise in the field.
Our schools are so blessed to have the support of their local Environmental Education Centres, delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned programs that inspire curiosity, foster a love of learning, and connect students with the natural world.
Through authentic, hands-on experiences, EECs help bring learning to life while planting the seeds of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and a lifelong commitment to caring for our planet. Together, we're empowering the next generation to understand, value, and protect the environments they call home. 🌿🌏

Thank you to Red Hill Public School and your wonderful 1/2 Gunyig class.
Today we received in the mail a beautiful parcel that just made our day.
Thank to Miss Irvin for your letter of appreciation and also to every student from your class for their personalised thank you cards to Darron.
We loved our Dinosaur study day with 1/2 Gunyig and your letters are so greatly appreciated.
The rewards are great in Environmental Education when we are continually blessed with all the amazing students, staff and schools of our local communities.

We always enjoy welcoming our Stage 1 budding mathematicians each term for our Numeracy in Nature program. Last week, the Wednesday group were fortunate to have Vicky from Longneck Lagoon EEC join us on-site to help guide their maths challenges.
Our students dived into some code-cracking activities—locating hidden words in mailboxes after mastering the cardinal points. They learned how to use a baseplate compass, then built their own compasses (that really worked!), before honing their map-reading skills to hunt for jigsaw “treasure.” When the pieces came together, they revealed a well-known icon that delighted everyone.
Of course, our ever-popular game of ‘twister’ was a highlight, and we wrapped up the session with scientific drawings of beetles and bugs from different perspectives.
We can’t wait to see all our young mathematicians again in Term 3—it’s just around the corner!
