Welcome to Encounter Lutheran College, an Early Learning to Year 12 campus located on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia, where our College family enjoys an innovative learning environment and an inviting sense of community. We also want you to know that the heart of our College is centred on Christ’s message of compassion, respect and love for all. We hope you recognise this in t

he way we care for students and their families a little differently and, with a little more love, than you might expect. Whilst our journey began in 2001 with a school of just over 70 students, we are now a College of 740 students, from Foundation to Year 12, we have a thriving Early Learning Centre and celebrated our 20th birthday in 2021.

📚 ENCOUNTER STAFF. ENCOUNTER STYLE. | BOOK WEEK 2026 | We’re not sure who had more fun with Book Week this year… our students or our staff!

Every single member of our Encounter staff team embraced Symphony of Stories and arrived at school dressed as a much-loved book character. From the creative to the clever, the colourful to the completely unexpected, our staff certainly brought the pages to life!

We gathered on the oval first thing in the morning for a very special Book Week photo shoot, and judging by the smiles, poses and sheer enthusiasm, it’s fair to say everyone was having a LOT of fun!

And then came the big question… would everyone change back into sensible work clothes? Absolutely not. Our staff stayed in character for the entire day!

It’s become a much-loved Book Week tradition, and we love that our staff team gets right behind the fun and helps make Book Week such a special celebration across the College.

📚✨ MIDDLE & SENIOR SCHOOL BOOK WEEK | Our Middle & Senior School students embraced this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories, with an incredible array of costumes, creativity and imagination.

From much-loved characters to clever and creative interpretations, it was wonderful to see so many students getting into the spirit of the day and bringing their favourite stories to life.

📚✨ JUNIOR SCHOOL BOOK WEEK | What a wonderful way to celebrate Book Week! Our Junior School students certainly embraced this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories, arriving at school in an amazing array of costumes inspired by their favourite books and characters.

A huge thank you to our families for getting behind the celebrations and helping make Book Week such a joyful part of life at Encounter. We love seeing our whole community embrace a love of reading and storytelling!

📚✨ BOOK WEEK MAGIC | SYMPHONY OF STORIES | There’s nothing quite like arriving at school on Book Week morning! From superheroes and storybook characters to plenty of creative and colourful costumes, our students brought the magic of books to life as they arrived at school on Friday.

With smiles, excitement and plenty of imagination, our Early Learning and Junior School students headed off to Junior School Shine, led by our wonderful Year 4 students, before coming together for a very special Book Week Assembly.

What a joyful way to celebrate our love of stories, reading and imagination!

THE WEEK AHEAD | Coming up this week at Encounter Lutheran College for Term 3 Week 7.

🎤 ENCOUNTER VOICE NIGHT | Join us for the Encounter Voice Night on Thursday 3rd September, a special evening where we will showcase performances from our choir and vocal students, celebrating their learning and musical growth. 🙏 PRAYER BREAKFAST 'MEET THE PRINCIPAL' | All parents, friends and community supporters of Encounter Lutheran College are warmly invited to join us for our Term 3 Prayer Breakfast on Thursday 3 September. This informal morning is an opportunity to come together, pray for our College and community, and meet our new Principal, Shane Jurecky. 📚 MIDDLE & SENIOR SCHOOL BOOK WEEK PARADE | Following this morning’s Middle & Senior School Shine and Assembly, our students brought the pages to life for our Book Week Parade, and we were thrilled to see so many students embracing the fun and coming along in costume.

This year’s theme, Symphony of Stories, was certainly on show, with an incredible mix of characters, creativity and imagination filling the College.

We love seeing the way our whole Encounter community embraces Book Week, from Early Learning right through to Year 12, and across our entire staff team.

FATHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS | Across the week there will be a number of events to recognise and celebrate our Encounter fathers and father figures.

🥞 Wednesday 2nd September | Early Learning Father's Day Breakfast at 8.30 am in Lighthouse Early Learning.
☕ Wednesday 2nd September | Father's Day Coffee and Sweet Treat at the Junior School and Middle School Kiss and Drop.
🎁 Friday 4th September | Father's Day Stall in the Art Room. Students will be taken to the stall with their class.

🌊 BLUE MINDS | Year 11 students, along with students from our Year 12 Earth and Environmental Science class, recently participated in a Blue Minds Youth Ocean Leadership workshop exploring the connection between mental health and climate change.

Students built on their understanding of managing mental health challenges, particularly in relation to the impacts of climate change on our environment. They also developed practical skills for maintaining positive mental health and taking positive environmental action in ways that can influence and inspire their community.

🌱 Students interested in developing innovative ideas, accessing support and becoming environmental changemakers are encouraged to explore The Blue Minds Academy at www.blueminds.org.au.
